"Hello students and welcome back to the School of Sun and Moon!" Our principle bellowed out to all of the students sitting below him.

This is my last year at the school for Sun and Moon. Currently it is 6:30 A.M., so I could see the Sun students huddled in the other corner of the room. I am a Moon student. So is my family. Not surprising, nearly all students are placed in the same section as their parents.

Now it was time for the ceremony. A few students will be put in a difficult situation, accustomed to their fears.

The first person up was a girl. She looks quite young, so I'm assuming she's in year 9. She has dark caramel skin, and frizzy brown hair that's pulled back into little messy bunches.

She looks nervous.

She closes her eyes, and takes a deep breath. After a moment, she opens them again.

"Moon." A teacher calls out. She smiles and walks down the stairs to our group. She's greeted by a few people, and she sits down comfortably. As if she's been here before.

I usually don't pay attention to these things. But when he comes up.

Time itself shudders and slinks away into the shadows.

His eyes. Wide and curious, sparkling blue. They catch my attention first and everyone seems to notice me look up. I glance around me and hang my head again.

"Phil Lester."

I perk up again as he walks up. He keeps his eyes open. Something not a lot of people do. It makes them anxious and paranoid. But he keeps his eyes wide open.
He blinks, and turns to a teacher standing by him.

"Sun."

I look down again. Of course he's a Sun. The way he smiled when he heard the word 'Sun'. The way his eyes lit up when his name was called.

Of course he's a Sun.
