~JUNE 15, 2007~

The ride there was quiet, not an uncomfortable kind of quiet, it was rather enjoyable.

We pulled up to this enormous restaurant. The lights were spectacular. Is it weird that I feel under dressed wearing a dress?

As we were searching for a parking space I filled my head with all of Chelsie's 'What if' questions. I took time to answer these as Ethan came around to get the door for me. I thanked him as I grabbed my wallet from my side.

"You okay?" He asked most likely from viewing my horrid posture. "I'm honestly a little nervous." "What is there to be nervous about?" "Well for starters if this goes horribly then I have to put up with the fact that you live next door." "You're very pessimistic aren't you?" He grabbed the door as I stumbled in over my heels. "You convince me that chivalry isn't dead." He smirked laughing a bit. The hostess led us to a booth in the far back. "Is there anything I could get for the two of you while you wait?" "I think that we're fine thank you." The waitress walked away leaving our silverware. Ethan looked up from his menu at me smiling.

"I hope you like this place, I'm not going to lie this is my first time here."
"It looks (expensive) great."
"Glad you think so."
"Actually, could you order for me while I use the restroom?"
"Of course."
I tell him my order as I grab my wallet and head to the bathroom. I walk in checking the ceiling as I pull out my lighter. (Damn even the bathroom is nice). I place a smoke between my lips and use the bathroom. I pull my dress back down and put out my smoke as I go to wash my hands. As I was leaving the restroom I saw
Ethan talking to what looked like the manager. I took a seat and wondered what they could have been talking about.

~Ethan's POV~

"I just met this girl"
"I see, just remember you only have till August to figure it out son."
"I'm aware. I can't seem to speak around her, her thoughts are louder than my words."
"Just be careful this time son, we don't want a repetition of the past now do we?"
"No sir"
I put on a straight face as I walk back to the booth.
"What was all of that about?" Juliette says in a playful tone. "I may have told a small lie earlier saying that I haven't been here before. My father owns this place." Her mood quickly changed as she put on a more serious face. "Why didn't you tell me before?" "I didn't want you to think that I took you here so that my dad could spy on us." Her tone lifted. "Oh, I get that." As our food arrived we finally took a break from talking.
"What are you doing after this?" "Nothing I can think of, why did you want to go somewhere?" "Actually there is something that I want to show you."

~Juliette's POV~

My mind goes everywhere. What could he want to show me? Oh my, what if he's trying to get me in bed?!
Ethan's eyes go wide and says "no, no, no" as if he could hear me. I give him a confused look. "Everything okay?" "Yeah I was just thinking how I made that sound. I want to show you something on the beach." My mind eases. "Oh I didn't even think of that." He laughs lightly as if he knows that's exactly what was on my mind.

The waitress brings us the check and he snatches it up as I reach for my wallet. I give him a stern look and place down a tip. "Fine but we are taking turns." "That's fine with me, that means I have a second date."
We head to the car after thanking the waitress.  As we are on the way to the beach, Ethan and I talk about every possible subject. He manages to make me smile the whole time.

We pull up to a secluded spot on the beach and begin walking. "Almost there I swear."
Once we get close he tells me to close my eyes and I continue to walk blindly. We arrive and he places his hands over my eyes counting down from three. As I regain my sight I see a light house standing before me. "Oh wow, that was a bit anticlimactic don't you think?" "Not when I tell you that we can go in the lighthouse." I grin assuming that it's a joke. "You're serious?" "As a shark attack." "You have amazingly poor timing with jokes-I love it."  He gives me a piggyback all the way to the lighthouse. He puts me down smiling, opening the latch to the door. "After you ma lady." I smirk walking up the steps. Among reaching the top I look over everything feeling on top of the world. "Beautiful right?" "It's amazing Ethan. What made you bring me here?" "You said you were nervous and when I'm anxious I come here. It helps." He really thought of everything. I smile sitting down beside him leaning my head on his shoulder. He puts his arm around me and we have a moment to just look at everything.

My phone rings filling the silence. "Oh my lord." I say as I roll my eyes. "Everything okay?" "Most likely not." I pick up the phone to my ex screaming in my ear. "You forgot to come get your dumbass dog from my place earlier." "Shit, I forgot all about that." "Obviously, that's why I fucking called." "When do I need to come get it?" "Like right now." "You can't wait, it's like 11 at night." "Well I wasn't even suppose to have it at all today. So yeah, right now would be peachy." "Fine Jesus you're the devil." She hung up scoffing.
"Everything okay hun?" "As a matter of fact no, I have to go pick up my dog like right now." "I'll drive you if you want." "Really, i'd owe you one?" "Don't mention it."
Our date was cut short as we jump in his car driving to my ex's house.
We pull up and I here my dog barking from the inside of her house. "I'll be right back, this should only take a sec." I walk up to the house ringing the doorbell. She opens the door holding my dog like it has the plague or something. "You can take your eat now." "No wonder he hates you." She hands my dog over looking to the car. "Poor thing, he doesn't know you does he?" I pause for a sec trying not to let her frustrate me. "Thanks for my dog." I turn around quickly walking to the car. "Tell him I said good luck." She yells walking back into the house.

~Ethan's POV~
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I just want to go to my house."
Her tone changed again and her thoughts became loud, they were screaming at the blonde girl that we were about to drive away from. "So, that wasn't what I was expecting." "Oh, that's my bad, I don't usually think of telling people because it's been such a normal thing for me." "Nothing wrong with that." She smiles at me, her thoughts go quiet. "I like you Ethan." "I'd hope so, I like you too."

We pull up to her house and I walk her to her door. She places the dog on the ground and he goes through the dog sized door on her house. I wait for her to speak as I stand quietly. "Tonight was fun E, we should do it again sometime." I grinned at her. "Maybe minus the last part though." She places a hand on her chin. "That's too bad, the last part consisted of me kissing you, but since you don't like that part"- I cut her off placing a hand on her cheek. "Did I say minus the last part, I totally didn't mean that." She smiles and I lean in the kiss her. "That's what I thought." She said as she kissed me goodbye.

I drove across the street, her dog following me. I shooed him to make him go back to her place, but as soon as I did, Juliette came out of her house. He darted over to her without a second thought. A car came around the corner and Juliette screamed while bringing her hands up to cover her eyes. I quickly ran to grab her dog and retuned it to her. When she didn't hear a collision, she opened her eyes to me standing in front of her. Her mind became loud again. "How did you-?" I said goodnight and walked back to my house handing her the dog.

I need to be more careful.
