Chapter 1
Death.
It's the way of life isn't it? It happens to everyone in the end; there's no way to avoid it... Unless the truth is revealed about why we are living in this world.
Well, let me start by introducing myself. My name is Stanley. I'm 16 and have lost my self belief. My mother passed away a decade ago and my father is a tainted drug addict. I'm the only child. You can say I'm like a rock. Gets kicked around and not taken care of. In other words, non-existent.
Even though I have failed to have a good or perfect life, that's still the way of life - in order to succeed, you must first fail. But no. I don't see it that way. I think that once you fail, you will just stop believing in yourself and then who knows what happens next? Maybe you look to committing suicide. So let's talk about my life. I go to school at the Minnesota High School and I hate every - literally every single person in the school... Except for this particular girl which I'll talk about later.
So now you know what kind of person I am... Let's get to the situation right now. I open my eyes, to be greeted with a visual blur, and my mind is empty. I don't have an idea of what happened. 3 short guys are standing in front of me. They're asking me something but their voices are distorted.
"Stanley, you alright? Wake up man!" said one of the guys in a deep but distorted voice.
As I glared up and wiped my eyes with my rough hands, I can finally see clearly and remember what happened. I got California Knocked Out! It's a type of fainting thing, more of a challenge for those of you who don't know. Now everything makes sense... why I woke up in this dirty toilet. It felt like 1000 years has past. Damn, this was a good one.
So these 3 guys were kind of my friends although I just met them like 30 minutes ago. They begged me to do the Knockout, so I agreed out of pity. So that's how it feels like. Man, I don't even know their names!
"How was it? It felt good right?" asked one of them with a subtle curiosity.
"Not really..." I replied.
"Come on, be honest!"
"Fine, it did in the first few seconds,"
"Cool man!"
So they just left me here. They made me faint and then just exited the vicinity. Oh well, I'm used to be treated like this. Like a tissue. Used and then thrown away. My whole life has just been me being alone, with no friends. I don't know why though. I always thought I was just like the others. As I headed out of the toilet, there was no one in the hallway. I just remembered, it's after school right now. I wonder what I should do... My father doesn't even care if I come home or not, so I better just hang around somewhere. Just when I touched the handle to the exit door, someone tapped my shoulder.
