Kat's P.O.V.
It had been a few days. I'd been excused from school by Tamaki's father due to the circumstances of my disappearance, but now I had to go back. I had to ignore the questions of the bruises covering my body and of why I'd been gone.
I took a deep breath and finished tying my tie to my uniform. I took a look at myself in the mirror and smiled reassuringly at myself. "You've got this, Kat. Just... go in there like you haven't even been gone and if people ask, you went on a vacation, right?" I asked myself and smiled once again, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I took a deep breath, grabbed my backpack and headed downstairs to get my keys and head to school.
I walked into the cafeteria clutching my book I was carrying as tight as I could. I looked around the whole room, but didn't see anyone close to me. People were staring. I felt my heart rate speed up and I frowned. How did I think I could do this? I felt as if I'd puke right here, right now. I shook my head and quickly walked out, heading towards music room 3 as quickly as I could. I got there and shut the door behind me quickly. The weight on my chest was immediately lifted as I entered the empty room. I dropped my bags and walked around the room, letting my myself calm down. As I calmed down, I realized I didn't have anything to do in here. I sighed and began to walk around, trying to find something to appease my ache for fun. I wove through the tables, studying the whole room.
I got to the costumes and lightly touched them with the tips of my fingers, not wanting to ruin them in any way. I smiled at a few of them and pulled them out, slipping them on and goofing around. I got all the way to dresses my sister Rose had worn before she even knew me. I smiled and pulled out a beautiful red ball gown. I looked for the tag to see who had worn it and saw my name printed onto the tag beside 'the funding ball.' I looked at it again curiously. What was the funding ball? I heard the door open behind me and whipped around to see who came in. My heart was racing in panic, habit from the past few days. There stood Tamaki, surprised to see me in here. "Oh, it's just you, thank goodness," I sighed in relief. He gave a small smile before putting down his stuff and walking my way. "What are you doing here so early, Princess?" I️ shrugged. "I️ went to the cafeteria and people were staring... I️ couldn't take it so I️ came here," a frown hinted at the corner of his lips and he reached for my hand silently. I️ let him, trying to keep calm and remind myself it was Tamaki, not James.
He took my hand and twirled me, pulling me into his arms, making me smile and giggle a little. He smiled and kissed my cheek, keeping his arms secure around my waist. "Ugh god, you two are going to give me diabetes because you're so sweet," a voice said and we both turned to see Nico and Chiyoko smiling lightly. I️ blushed and pulled away gently from my boyfriend. He let me go, keeping his eyes trained on me still. Chiyoko came to me quickly and hugged me, burying her face in my hair. "I️ missed you so much Kitty Kat..." she said quietly. I️ smiled softly. "Me too," I said. We let go and Nico grinned at me. "Hey, Kitty! Long time no see!" She said and winked. I giggled and smiled at her. Even though I was still a little on edge, it was good to see people I hadn't seen for a while. "So how are you feeling?" Nico asked gently, referring to the previous events. Chiyoko and Tamaki tried to give her subtle glares, but I caught onto them pretty easily. I wasn't stupid, I knew they thought I was broken or fragile and therefore they were avoiding the subject of what happened. I smiled gently. "I'm okay, still a little shaken up, but I'll be okay," I assured. I felt Tamaki's worried gaze on me, but ignored it. Nico bit her lip. "Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned it," I sighed at that and turned to look at them all at once. "Guys, I'm serious, I'm fine and I would really appreciate it if you wouldn't act like I'm a damaged porcelain doll or something." I explained. I was so tired of being looked at like I was severely messed up. When the three continued to stare, I sighed and walked away in frustration. When would people just learn to take me seriously? "Babe, please don't be upset," Tamaki started and wrapped his arms around my waist. I was immediately back in that house with that terrible guy. I started hyperventilating and struggling to pry his arms off of me. The tears began to well up immediately "P-please get off and don't hurt me..." I whimpered fearfully. His grip tightened and my tears fell faster. "N-no James please! I'm begging you, don't!" I sobbed. "Stop it Tamaki! You triggered her! Let go!" I felt another pair of arms begin to touch me, making me panic more with confusion. I wasn't sure where I was anymore. Suddenly both pairs of hands were off of me and I was back in Music Room 3. I didn't even look at the others, I just crumpled to the floor in a pile of tears. They were right... I was broken. I was broken, used goods.Authors Note:
Sorry guys, I know this is a short chapter, this is my first free day in weeks and I really apologize for the lack of content. I promise I'll try to write more! But I warn you, I'm only one person writing in the view of a lot of people with even more to come and I can only do so much some days so updates will be slow, but my goal is to post at least a chapter a week in one of my books. I love you all and thank you for your patience.
