When I read the note I felt a sinking feeling in my chest. I couldn't breathe. I remembered the promise that Helen had made, I blamed myself that she broke it. I wandered aimlessly around town, I realized I was nothing without her. I went back to our house and found the sharpest knife. Slowly I sliced my wrists and felt the pain, I lay down, regretting what I had done to the woman I loved. Slowly dying, I could feel someone in the room. I did not have enough strength to look up and see who it was, but I felt a godly presence.When I had finally passed, my soul left my body, I looked down to see my father. He saw me and said;

"Son I'm sorry we have to meet this way, but I am here to give you the gift that you've always wanted. Immortality. In return, you will fly the sun across the sky in my chariot. You can spend day and night chasing after that girl who you love, for she broke a promise to my sister and is now paying her debts by carrying the moon across the sky." I could do nothing but nod. Then I realized that immortality was the worst gift anyone could ever be given.

Now you know the story of how the sun and moon travel across the sky, they move by the lost love and broken hearts of our literal star-crossed lovers.
