Chapter 1:
Today is my first day Emerwood high, and to tell you the truth I'm not that excited. 38 days ago my mom told me we had to pack up and move to Florida to leave for California. That means leaving the only school I have ever gone to with my best friends Sarah King, Jordan Saah and Zack Lucas.
As I step inside the doors I feel this is not going to be like my old school at all.
Chapter 2:
"Watch it!" a dusty blonde guy says in a red jersey bumping into me while running down the hall.
I have a five-minute warning bell to get to class. I see a girl standing next to her locker. Looking down at my schedule I realize I need to find room 104.
"Excuse me, can you help me find room 104?"
She looked up and softly said "What?"
"Room 104? Can you tell me where it is?"
She gulped "Room 104? I thought they were banning that room this year?" she stammered
I lifted up the paper to show her that it says Ms. Critiare room 104.
"Why would it be banned?"
She looked around "I didn't tell you this but you don't want to have class in room 104." She swept her thin brown hair back behind her ear and hurried off to class.
"Some help she was." I mumbled.
I walked further down the hall and stumbled upon a little room with the door open. There was only 8 or so people in the room. As I stepped through the door way the late bell rang and I took a seat towards the back of the classroom.
"Good morning class I miss Critiare one tip for surviving my class is don't get on my bad side. Also I do not tolerate bad behavior. You will be cast out to see the principal." Did she really just say 'cast out'? "I also do not tolerate opinion. Keep your comments and 'gestures' to yourselves." She finger quoted around gestures. "Now get out the books I have so kindly placed for you underneath your desk..."
"Does she ever stop talking?" said a thin, pale, but strangely beautiful girl sitting next to me.
"Uh. She's a teacher that's sorta her job." I retorted
She giggled. "I'm Mickey and this is my cousin Tess." she pointed to the short blonde sitting next to her.
"I'm Skylir"
Tess's eyes widened "Skylir? Like Skylir Matthews?"
"Uhm. Yeah. How di-"
She continued "THE Skylir Matthews?"
"No dummy. She isn't THE Skylir Matthews. We would have known it when we saw her!" Mickey argued with her cousin. "Right?" She looked at me.
"Yeah. No. Sorry. I'm not sure I even know what your talking about?" I asked.
"Your new around here aren't you?" Mickey smiled as she asked me.
"Yeah." I said looking down at my shoes.
"Well jus-"
"Do you girls have something you would like to share?" asked Ms. Critiare directing her question towards us.
"No ma'am." Mickey said curling in her lips and bitin down on them.
"Miss Smalls?"
"Nope." Tess said sliding back in her chair comfortably.
"Miss Matthews?"
She said this not like how she addressed the others, but nervous maybe even afraid , though I couldn't imagine why? Although her voice deceived her she held a wicked glare at me. When she said my name everyone looked back. "Skylir Matthews? THE Skylir Matthews?" a boy in the front said aloud. MS.Critiare held her stare and ignored his comment along with a few others as I sat quietly.
