The 100 ➳ Preferences

"I need a break, Monty! If I stay here one more minute I'll throw something out of the window!" You said to your boyfriend. You have been on the dropship for the part three days trying to find a way to use the wristbands to communicate with the Ark.

"Fine, but not for too long." He didn't show it as much as you did, but he was as disappointed and annoyed as you were. You walked outside without talking much and sat down on a fallen tree. "I know, it's not easy and I'm sorry I dragged you into all of this, but-" "But you didn't know what you would do without your beautiful, genius girlfriend." You said sarcastically and he chuckled. "So, you can laugh!"

"Well, when I'm with you I always seem to laugh, no matter how shitty the situation is." You stayed like this for a while. You were looking at the sky thinking about how beautiful the stars were. "We lived among them, but no one ever took time to notice them. If you look at one you would see just a white dot but all of them form beautiful shapes in the dark sky. It's wonderful." You smiled. "Wait, Monty! That's it!" You jumped up. He looked at you confused and then he realized what you were talking about.

"All this time we're trying to use only one, that's why the signal is so weak." He started. "But if we use all of them we have 100 times more power!" You finished his sentence. You ran inside to see if there was a way to connect the transmitters of all the bracelets you had. You didn't speak at all, you were so absorbed by your work that you didn't notice the sun had come up in the sky when you finally finished. "Are you ready to see if it worked?"

"It's now or never." He connected the last one of the bracelets with Raven's radio and turned it on. You held his hand tightly and held your breath. If this worked you would finally be able to communicate with the Ark and let them know Earth was survivable. At first there was a silence but then a voice was heard.

"Hello. Who's there? This is Ark station. Please report your place."

"We did it!" You said and jumped into Monty's arms. "I knew we would." He said and kissed you. "We have to inform Clarke about this."

I looked at him smiling mischievously. "Last one to her tent is a rotten egg." He said alredy sprinting off. "Hey, not fair!" You yelled, but nonetheless ran after him. You were running through the camp but as it was the first hours of the morning everyone was going to their places, so you bumped into many people. Finally you arrived at the tent at the same time. "I think I won." You said smiling. He smiled back. "You cheated!" "Oh, just shut up and admit it."

"You know, you guys are so cute together." Clarke said, interrupting your conversation. You looked at her and blushed. "Now, is there a specific reason why you came to my tent at dawn, running, or you just got bored?"

"We found a way to communicate with the Ark." You said grinning and looked at Monty who had the same expression on his face. Clake looked at you wide-eyed. "And they answered?" She asked, shock clear in her voice. "Yes!" She looked at you and smiled. "Then let's go!"

"You should team up more often." Clarke said while you were walking to the dropship. "You make an excellent team." You smiled at her and Monty put an arm around your waist. "The truth is without her nothing of this would have happened." Monty said. You blushed and looked away. Maybe, just maybe, you could start a normal life on Earth.
