These characters are not mine. The belong to Rainbow Rowell and her wonderful book Fangirl.
Levi nuzzled me once again. "God, I love you," he whispered in my ear. We were sitting on his famous antique couch in a tangle of legs and love. Me on his lap, my leg draped across his leg, my hands gripping his shirt, my face so close that I could feel his hot and happy breaths...It was finally my turn to say his famous words. "Say it again," I beamed as Levi-like as I possibly could.
He puffed up his chest and cleared his throat. "Cather." This made me burst into giggles and fall back onto his lanky legs. It was as though I was a champagne bottle and Levi popped the cork, revealing a sudsy mess of laughter and bubbles. I couldn't help it; Levi was someone that I could actually be myself around. "Damn it, Cath. I can't confess my love for you if your going to just going to laugh."
He was smiling one of his Levi smiles and that just made me laugh harder. He finally decided to just grab me with his thumb starting at the part right underneath my shoulder bone with the rest of his hand wrapping back so that his fingertips touched the tip of my shoulder blade. Levi propped me back up and kissed my nose. He then leaned in and whispered in my ear, "Cath, I love you to the moon and back." Levi sealed his words by kissing the side of my neck. It was like he was writing a love note as he spoke and his kisses were those little heart stickers that you placed on Valentines.
I decided to send the next note. I whispered back, "Well I love you more than Simon loves Baz." He looked appalled, but couldn't help but smile with his eyes. "Now I can't even compete, Cath." "Maybe I just love you more, then." "You wait here. I'll be right back," Levi said as he ran his fingers through his hair, grabbed his jacket and shoes, and bolted out the door.
I flopped back onto the couch and opened a fanfic on my phone that I was reading earlier. It must have been 15 minutes until he finally entered, holding two cups of coffee. "I love you so much that I would walk all the way to Starbucks and back," Levi said, handing me my Gingerbread Starbucks. I placed the steaming cup on his nightstand. "Fuck, I think you win," I said as I helped him take off his snow covered jacket. He smiled a goofy Levi smile and I finally realized after 1 full year of dating, that he was my Levi, I was his Cath, and we both loved each other more than I could imagine.
