"I don't wanna go home!" Tommy wined grabbing my hand and pulling me away from the suitcase I was trying to pack.

"We can't avoid the inevitable, we're leaving soon and quite frankly I would prefer to bring all my possessions along." I stated, he finally let go of my hand and followed me back into my room and sprawled across my bed as I continued to pack.

"Taylor we're going to be best friends forever right?" he asked as he finally started helping me pack.

"Of course," I mumbled thinking back to a few weeks ago when Justin had apologized for assuming that we liked each other and trying to ruin our friend ship. 'I guess I was just jealous that my two best friends were stealing eachother from me.'

We then all apologized and told him that we would always be there for him. So now Tom and I were back to normal, sort of, I blame Justin, cause every time Tom talks to me I think maybe he does like me, maybe I do like him.

"Taylor!" Tom yelled interrupting my thoughts.

"What?" I asked still dazed.

"You were doing that weird stare at the wall thing again," he said, throwing some of the clothes that were on the floor to me.

"Thanks," I said as I stared to fold them before just shoving them in the suitcase.

"What are you thinking 'bout?" he asked.

"Nothing," I muttered still distracted.

There was a long silence before Tom spoke again.

"Okay so I was thinking, we have about a month left of summer and we need to do something big, like really really..... really big!"

"We both have football," I replied barely paying attention to him.

"Ya but not till next week!" he protested.

"Justin's leaving to.... something right after we get home."

"I swear he is on every team and in every club at our school," Thomas mumbled, admitting defeat and going back to his phone.

"Justin! Its time to go!" Dad yelled from down stairs.

"Where are you going again?" I asked standing up off of his bed to help him grab all of his stuff so he wouldn't have to take two trips.

"I've got a chess tournament!" he said with a geeky grin.

"Nerd," I said trying to shove him. He took this opportunity to remind me that even if he was a complete nerd he was still stonger then I was, by shoved me back making me fall over.

"JUSTIN!" It was our mom yelling this time.

"We should hurry," I said standing back and grabbing one of his bags.

"Wait," Justin said taking his bag out of my hand and placing it back on the groud, he then put both of his hands on my shoulders, "If you have any nightma-"

"Justin I'll be fine!" I protested but he ignored me.

"If you have any nightmares," he repeated, "Call Thomas-"

"You told Tommy that I have nightmares!?" I all but yelled.

"Your nightmares are starting to hit a pattern if they hold to that you should be having one while I'm gone, plus I think some of them are about abandonment and me leaving could trigger that," he explained.

"Oh get over yourself," I said rolling my eyes, and giving him another playful shove before grabbing his bags and heading down the stairs.

I sat up in a cold sweat, I felt my stomach churning and quickly pulled myself out of bed towards the bath room. My hand hit something hard as I pushed my self out of bed but I ignored it.

I sat on the floor and leaned over the toilet. I squooze my eyes shut as the content from last nights diner found their way out of my mouth.

"Taylor, are you okay?" I felt someone pull my hair out of my face and start rubing my back.

Justin couldn't be back yet, so I turned to look at whomever was accompanying me, I saw a very concerned Thomas crouched next to me and I quickly turned my face back towards the toilet, throwing up again.

"What are you doing here?" I croaked, trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Justin told me you might have a nightmare and I knew you wouldn't listen to him and call me if you did, so I just came over," he said sheepishly.

"Thanks," I muttered. We sat in silence for a minute until the urge to throw up subsided and I slowly stood up.

He flushed the toilet and filled the cup that I keep next to my sink with water, I brushed my teeth to get the gross taste out of my mouth.

Thomas grabed my hand and walked me back to my bedroom, I climbed back into my bed fully expecting him to leave but he climbed in after me.

"What are you doing?" I mummbled already half asleep.

"Shhhh," he whispered and started scratching my back, then he started singing, the same song Justin usually sings to get me to sleep. Thomas's voice, although its different then Justin's, is still one of the most beautiful sounds in the world. If it was up to me I would even go as far as to say it's better then his father's.

I felt something moving next to me and I opened my eyes glancing at my alarm clock, it was 5am.

"Shhh sh sh sh shhhh, go back to sleep."

"What are... why?" I said to tired to make coherent sentences.

He places his finger over my lips shushing me again.

"My parents don't know I'm here and your dad would kill me if he knew I slept in your bed, plus you don't want him knowing why, right?"

I nodded in agreement.

"Okay goodnight I'll see you in a few hours," he kissed my forehead and quickly crossed my room, opening my window and climbing out into the tree before disappearing out of view.

******

*sigh* "I'm going to miss you," Thomas mumbled.

I turned to him confused, but he was looking up at the sky. "What do you mean?" I finally asked.

"Not you! Summer's over, and I'm going to miss her."

Tonight was our last real summer night, school started in two days so we had to go to bed early tomorrow.

"Thomas! Taylor! Come join us!" Ethan shouted.

"I just played football every day for a week and a half give me a break!" Thomas shouted back.

"Get off your lazy butt, we're going to the pool," Mike said as he and Jake came from behind us forcing us to stand up.

"Just let me wallow in my sorrow," Thomas whined, but he stood up anyways and followed the others to the pool. "You coming, Tay?"

"I'm just going to run home and grab my swimsuit," I replied.

"Its not like we haven't all seen -," Jake started.

"Watch it!" Justin yelled protectively.

"I'll just be a minute!" I yelled as I sprinted off towards my house.

The run from the football feild back to my house felt suprisingly longer then it looked.

"We really should invest in golf carts," I said, to my dad as I ran up our back steps, slightly out of breath. I ran up the stairs to my room before he could reply. Picking out my favorite pink and gold bikini I quickly changed grabbing my wrap and sandles and sprinting back down the staires.

"Where are you going Taylor?" My dad asked before I ran out the door.

"The pool!" I shouted, hoping I could run faster than he could yell something that needed to be done before I left.
