Enoch's POV

I could hear Ms. Peregrine call out for me as I exited out of the dining room but I was too annoyed to respond. I knew I was going to have a chat about my behavior with Ms. Peregrine later, but that's a problem for a different time. Right now I would just like to get to my room before I lose my temper or do something I regret. When I reached my room I opened my door and slammed my door shut behind me as I walked in. I wasn't aware how hard I slammed the door until I saw my shelf start to shake. I walked towards my bed and laid my head on the pillow while closing my eyes. This day was turning out to be one of the worst days of my life. First, I woke up finding out that someone had broken my last jar of hearts, so I wasn't able to activate any of my creations. Secondly, Ms. Peregrine wouldn't allow me to go into town to buy more hearts because she said I was too young to go alone. Both Victor and Emma were too busy doing their own things and it was highly unlikely that the other children would want to tag along with me. Last but not a least, Ms. Peregrine had sprung some unpleasant news about a new peculiar joining us, literally an hour before she arrived. Oh, and if I'm on the subject of the new peculiar might as well add the fact that she literally implied that I was a liar and made me miss my dinner.

"Ugh!" I grunted while crossing my arms.

Being hungry and angry at the same isn't a good combination for anyone, especially if that anyone is me. I would of grabbed my dinner plate before I barged out, but I had too much on my mind. Now, i'll just have to wait until there watching Horace's dreams to sneak down and eat. I opened my eyes to check the time and it had only been ten minutes. It's going to be a long while before they finish dinner. Eventually, I decided to lay back onto my bed and close my eyes for a bit. I didn't know that I had fallen asleep until I was awoken by the sound of footsteps. I grudgingly sat upright on my bed checking the time on my alarm clock, I had been asleep for an hour. I rubbed my eyes and let out a silent yawn. Then I realized that the footsteps stopped in front of my door, I waited for the person to knock but the person just stood outside. I sighed heavily and walked towards the door.

"Are you just going to stand there all day?" I asked while opening the door with my right hand and running my left hand through my hair.

There in the hallway stood Olive wide eyed holding a dinner plate in both her hands. My eyes widened in shock as well but I quickly turned my eyes into a glare.

"Uh um I brought you this." She mumbled while looking at the dinner plate.

"Why did you bring this?" I questioned her while taking the plate from her hands.

"B-B-Because Ms. Peregrine asked?" She stuttered confused.

"Yeah, but why did you bring this? I thought she would of asked Emma or something." I stated quite annoyed.

"She did. I just wanted to give you this myself. Also because I wanted to apologize for earlier, you know when I um bumped into Millard and thought it was you." She muttered.

"Apology accepted. Anything else?" I grunted too hungry to care.

She shook her head "no" so I proceeded to close the door. When I turned around and headed for the direction of my desk, I heard a knock.

"Come in." I yelled as I reached my desk, sat down and started eating.

It was Olive again. She entered my room slowly and closed the door behind her. She then looked up from the floor and stared around my room. Probably freaked out by my dismembered doll parts, jar of body parts and scrap pieces of metal. I coughed to get her attention. She quickly turned to me and I could see a faint blush appearing on her face. I stopped eating to raise one of my eyebrows at her.

"Can I help you?" I asked annoyed that she interrupted my dinner.

"Um, I forgot to tell you that Emma said that you have to wash your own plate when you finish eating." She mumbled while fumbling with her gloved hands.

"Is that all?" I sighed while cutting a carrot piece.

"No. I um, also wanted to introduce myself. I'm Olive Elephanta." She stated while holding out her right hand to me.

I just raised one of my eyebrow towards her and ignored her hand. She quickly redrew her hand and folded them in front of her.

"You know you could at least try to be friendly." She huffed.

"I could, but that doesn't mean I want to." I said while putting the carrot slice in my mouth.

"Fine." She exclaimed turning around to leave.

I looked up from my dinner plate and sighed "I'm Enoch O'Connor."

She turned halfway and said. "Well it's nice to meet you Enoch." Then exited my room closing the door behind her.

Yeah, nice indeed I thought to myself.
