We now stood upon diver's isle, the sun still shining radiently. Alice gazed at the island in amazement and exclaimed, "Wow, it's gorgeous, Alan,"

"It's something, all right," I agreed running across the decaying bridge. The bridge creeked with every step I took. I remembered the first thing I should do and I ran for the house immediately.. "Don't worry, honey," I assured. "I'll get you inside safe and sound before it's dark. And I've got the flashlight,"

"I know. I'm okay," Alice spoke, now from behind as my distance between me and her extended.

As I was getting near the house, I recalled why I was doing this. Alice had a phobia, a fear of the darkness. I wanted to make sure that we were inside with the lights before sunset. I crossed the bridge, my feet now stepping on firm ground. The crows around me spread their wings, flying away as I proceeded to my house. Suspicion was aroused within my mind: Has this house been abandoned for quite some time? I continued, walking towards the front door to unlock the door. I inserted the keys inside but it took quite an effort for me to unlock as the key hole seemed slightly faultly. I twisted and turned the key, hoping that somehow, I could unlock the door.

"Come on," I muttered to myself as the door was still locked. As if a prayer has been answered, the door unlocked as soon as I finished my sentence. "Here we go. Let's have a look inside," I announced, switching on my flashlight. The cabin was dark and even if the sunlights have shone into the house, it was impossible to do anything without my flashlights. I surveyed the house for a moment and surprising, it was in tip-toe condition. The wooden floors and cupboards were still new.

"It's dark in there. We need lights. Can you figure out how to get the power on, honey?" Alice called out to me. I shone my flashlight at another door at the end. It was partially open. I walked towards the door, curious if there was anybody on this island.

"Hello? Anybody there?" I called out. There was no response. The door must have been like that the whole time.

I went upstairs, shining my light as I moved on. As soon as I reached the top floor, two doors were already there. I opened the one on the left, walking inside. The room was extremely small. However, something was wrong about it because for a moment, the oppesive feeling I had seen on the ferry returned now. A flashback suddenly came from nowhere, causing a slight headache. I clutched my head, panting as the pain was somewhat unbearable, attempting to split my head apart. I only got a glance of it so I had no idea what it was areally all about. I noticed a picture of a person, wearing an old-fashioned diving suit.

I went for the other room, opening it. The cabin looked like a time capsule from the sixties or even earlier. I observed the bedroom. It was ordinary. I looked at the sun outside, shining orange now. I needed to find the generator fast.

Behind, the lake greeted me with waves. Behind, only a wooden platform was seen. There must have people fishing here. I went out to the front after my fruitless search for the generator.

"Could the power cable be at the shed over there?" Alice suggested, pointing to a wooden shed from a distance. I went there, thinking that Alice might be correct.

I ran forward, hoping to find the generator . As I ran for the shed, I noticed a tree trunk. On there, words were craved, mostly love messages. I inferred that the island has once been the site for a love story. Maybe it could happen again. I ran for the shed, opening the wooden shed. Sure enough, an old generator was inside, connected to the power cable. I pulled the string attached to the generator, forcing the engines to wake up from ts sleep. After pulling it for three times, it finally worked as it finally woke up. Its rumbling engines was an evidence. I walked out of the shed, ahppy that I managed to get the electricity working.
