Chapter 1 - Tears

"Carley, get your ass down here, NOW!"

"JESUS CHRIST, Rachel I'm coming"

This is what my life is like. I'm Carley Montgomery daughter of Gwendolyn and Nathaniel I'm the middle child. My older sister is Rachel a high school dropout she's 18 my other sister is 14, Adele and then there's me 16 year old stuff up but you know shit happens. Well you probably want to know why we moved to Canada well...

I rushed down the stairs and find two cops standing at the front door.

"Okay officers that's all of us" says Rachel

"What happening Carly" Adele asks she's worried I can tell

"Girls your parents were killed in a car accident"

"WHAT!!" Rachel screams.

Adele starts crying. I'm shocked.

"How did it happen" I ask

"All will be explained in Canada" the cop said trying to keep us calm.

"Your parents as you know we're very wealthy and they have a house in Canada we're you'll live. As Rachel is 18 she can be look after you two" said the other cop.

About a half hour later I started packing my bags for Canada it hasn't hit me yet but it will soon I know. I'm a quick packer and I finished in about two hours and I walked into Adele's room to help her. She wasn't there though, but I heard a sob coming from the closet I slid open the mirrored door and find Adele.

"Hey Addie"

"Carley I miss them"

"I know you do, so do I"

I look in the corner behind Adele and see a little shrine pictures, toys, clothes, and special little things that our parents had given her.

"Come with me I have an idea"

"Ok, where are we going though"

"You'll see"

We walk down the hall and I open the door to Mum and Dads room, we walk in and crawl into their bed. I'm on mums side and Adele is on dads, I press my nose against the pillow I can smell mums perfume 'Coco Chanel'.

"Addie smell here" I point to the pillow

"Mummy" Adele starts crying and the door opens

I thought it would be mum and dad, but that couldn't happen they were dead I look up and there is Rachel standing there I put my hand out to her and she climbs into the bed and we both listen to Adele cry herself to sleep.

"You okay" I ask Rachel

"I'm scared Carley, what if I do a bad job of caring for you two and we get separated"

"That won't happen" I reassure her.

"I'll have to get a job even though mum and dad had heaps of money it won't last forever"

I can see that Rachel is upset, there are three weeks of summer left and we leave in four days for Canada. Rachel quickly drifts of to sleep, but I just can't seem to sleep. I look at the time and it is 6:30 already I carefully hop out of the bed over Adele and walk to the ensuite in my room I get dressed and start on Adele's Room clean up. All her stuff is packed away but then I remember the shrine she built, I climb into her closet there is a pin board with photos of mum and dad even some of us. I stay in the closet for a long time trying to hold back my tears then I see I photo of baby me I unpin it and hold it in my hands, the image has been folded I half and of course I open it I was expecting to find Rachel or mum and dad but no there was two babies identical.

"I'm a twin" I say

"CARLEY WHERE ARE YOU"

I hear Adele open the door to her room. I walk out of the closet the expression on her face is priceless

"OMG Carley thank you"

"No props Addie, All that's left to do is your closet"

"On it"

Adele rushes into the closet and starts packing her clothes, I walk down stairs and find Rachel on her Mac.

"What are you doing Rachie?"

"Booking a funeral for mum and dad"

"When for?"

"Well tonight is the only time left until we leave and I thought it would be nice to have the funeral here"

"Yeah, I'll leave you to it I'm just going to check the storage unit for anything we might need"

"Okay, call me if you need me"

I grab the keys to my car and hop in.

"How are you Ruby" I ask my car as I reverse onto the road.

Yes I named my car she's a red convertible and Dad bought her for me for my 16th birthday. I'm not really going to the storage unit because I already know that its empty I helped mum clean it out last month so I head to the Tea Hut near the Pier and open my blog.

SCHOOL BLOG

So long Princess C is will be out of the country and leaving Oak Hill for good. She will be starting a new chapter of her life in Canada.
