I only had 2 classes with the girl of my dreams. Only first and sixth period. But, I get to see her at lunch.

Lunch rolls around and our whole group meets at our table. Jack, Aaron, Nate, Jake, Cameron, Caspar, Grayson, Jasmine, Alexa, and Beth was our lunch table group. Everyone was sitting down enjoying their time except Beth, because she wasn't here.

I lean in to whisper in Ethan's ear, "Where the hell is Beth?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing," Ethan says worried.

Ethan and I stand up from our table and look around the cafeteria. Then, we found her. Beth was sitting with that Damien kid from our English class alone. Oh hell no.

Ethan and I both give each other a look of anger and don't hesitate to make our way over there.

I slide in on Beth's right and Ethan sits on her left, without an invitation. We glare at the kid across from us in frustration.

"Uh-Hi ass clowns," Beth says off guard.

"Who's your friend?" Ethan and I say in sync while staring him down. The kid looked scared. He should be.

Beth looked us at both in confusion, "This is Damien, he came all the way from the big apple."

"Hi, I'm Dam-"

Ethan interrupts, "We heard."

"Come on, let's go to our table," I say as I offer her my hand to help her up.

Beth takes it and her head turns to look back at Damien to apologize, "I'm sorry, I'll see you in 5th period!"

As we distanced from Damien, Beth pulls away from my grip.

"The hell was that, Dolans?" She pushes mine and Ethan's shoulder at the same time.

"We're protecting you from douchiness!" I assure her.

It's true, Ethan and I have always tried to protect her from guys like that. Why? Because, well, we're in love with Beth and don't want her to fall for anyone.

When Beth started dating her ex boyfriend, Seth, Ethan and I were heartbroken. But, we made a plan and fixed it. Beth just doesn't know the truth and we don't plan on telling her. Just let her believe what she thinks what happened. I almost regret doing it, but all that matters is that she's not with him anymore.

"No, you're protecting me from making friends! Chill, you guys aren't my dads. Let me live." Beth angrily walked out of the cafeteria to the hallways.

Ethan bumped shoulders with mine and walked off, "Way to fucking go, Gray."

I didn't want to go sit back at our lunch table and pretend to be happy. So, I followed where Beth went.

I walked through the halls feeling worry pump through my veins. The thought of Beth angry with me, angers me.

Finally, a girl sat with her back resting on the red lockers with her legs out in front of her, filled my vision. It was Beth, I could recognize that beautiful head of hair anywhere.

"Beth?" I mutter.

The girl looks up at me, it is Beth.

"Are you here to yell at the lockers for touching me?" She replies with attitude.

Seeing the lockers touch her more than I'm able to does make me a little upset, but I won't let her know that.

I walk over to her and sit right beside her, in the same position.

"Ya know, I was, but since you said something I won't." I smirk.

"Why do you guys always do this?" Beth sounded sad, but she wouldn't look at me. I just watched her fiddle with her beautiful hands.

I wanted to tell her, oh my god, I really wanted to. But, an excuse came out instead.

"You're so nice and tiny, we're scared you can't fight for yourself. We just don't want to see you get hurt. You're our best friend." I say under my breath.

The bell rang, and all the students filled the halls, but Beth and I didn't budge.

"I understand where you're coming from, but would you be a little more lenient please?" Beth laughs.

I nod, but I know that'd be hard.

As I was about to get up, I feel her soft lips connect with my cheek. A wave of electricity fired up inside me.

"Thanks, Gray," Beth smiled and walked away.

I put my hand on the place she kissed.

My eyes shot up and an angry Ethan was across the hall from me. My brother glared at me with complete madness. We kept the eye contact for a couple of seconds until I turned and walked to class. I was too scared to keep the contact any longer.

I know what he was thinking.
