- This is my first entry here in wattpad. I've been writing for years and still I have only finished one novel so far but unfortunately, I lost the notebook I wrote it in. Well, here is my attempt to rewrite the whole thing. This story is inspired by the Warcraft game stories so you may find familiar elements in both characters and plot here.

- For those who are into constructive crticisims, you are very much welcome. I would very much like to enter this piece into the watty awards once it is finished. Thanks and have fun reading my story.

- AND LASTLY, I really love reading especially medieval/war/fantasy stories so if you have any, feel free to let me know. :) I'll comment and read it without any "please comment and read my story first". For me, a person should read what he wants not what he is forced to read.

PROLOGUE

The moon shone brightly, a perfect globe in the night sky. A gentle breeze brushed through his long shaggy black hair. Everything is still. Everything is quiet. The trees gently waved its leaves as the breeze blew at it. His eyes caught movement on his left side.

There it is. A band of fifteen men-at-arms marching in two lines, their boots striking the muddy soil of the abandoned forest. He studied them. All of them are well armed, with chain mails and soldier helms. All of them carried swords except the one in the middle, who carried two short swords. So there he is. Nice. He approached the band of soldiers slowly, every step as silent as a cat’s. The soldiers didn’t notice him until one of them dropped dead with a loud thud. Before the second soldier can just as much as turn, he was already at his throat with his black knife. The remaining soldiers drew their swords but he was too fast, killing three other before the other ten completely unsheathed their swords.

The first five soldiers went for him at once, thrusting and swinging their swords. Their swords touched nothing but air as he disappeared in a black smoke. He reappeared behind the soldier in the middle and stabbed him before disappearing in another black smoke.

“It’s a teleport!” said the leader with two shortswords slung on his back. “Back to back now!”

The remaining soldiers compressed into a tight circle, with their leader at the center. A black smoke appeared above them and two of them dropped dead even before they noticed him above them. Another three dropped lifeless when they finally noticed him. One of the soldiers attempted to hack at him with his longsword but he blocked it with his knife. He threw his other knife into the soldier’s face and spun to throw his other knife at the soldier behind him and disappeared with another puff of black smoke. The soldiers’ leader drew his short sword, eyes searching the surroundings.

“Guys, run. I’ll try to delay him.” The leader told his two remaining soldiers. “Tell the king that the raven is on the move.”

The leader raised his short sword just in time to block his knife as he reappeared before him. He spun and struck one of the soldiers in the leg. The leader struck him with his other sword but he managed to roll on his right side and counter-attacked. The leader parried it with his left sword and jumped away from him. This one is quick. He disappeared again but this time, instead of black smoke, hundreds of black ravens flew from where he is. The leader’s view is blocked but he heard his two other men running. He struck the ravens one by one with his two weapons but the ravens seemed endless. He saw a flash on his right side and raised his arm just in time to prevent the knife from reaching his throat. The leader gasped as he felt the pain. The ravens flew upward, clearing his view. In front of the leader, standing quietly was the man in black, his beard and hair as black as his knife’s blade.

“I know you!” The leader shouted. “You’re the Raven.”

The Raven smiled. “Knowing me will not save you from me.” And he disappeared.
