Shawn wanted to cook this morning so I've been taking my sweet time getting ready. I'm pretty low maintenance, I shower and do makeup I wear very light makeup now. Shawn hates how much I usually wear and I really wanna keep him happy. Today I won't wear any makeup none at all and hopefully he doesn't get mad, and isn't repulsed. "Kat!" He yells making me smile I can hear my mothers gasp and then her hurried footsteps running towards me. They call me Kat and Ekatrina when the kids not Shawn are around. My modelling friend goes by Kat now because someone heard me explaining my name to them so she took the blow and started calling herself Kat because the whole world would freak out that it's not my real name.
"You told him," she squeezes me and I chuckle. "Was he mad?" She raises an eyebrow and I shake my head.
"No he was happy that I told him." I smile pulling on the large shirt I have to wear. I have to wear bigger clothes because of the size of my stomach.
"I'm glad you told him, now I can stop calling you Reese," she groans almost. "It was your fathers idea and it wasn't a very good one." She shakes her head.
"Mom," I roll my eyes and she laughs. "Go downstairs tell him in coming." I point and she nods but he sits in the doorway.
"I called you like ten minutes ago I got worried," he mumbles. "How are my babies?" He gives me a giggle while he kneels down kissing my stomach. "Ow," he moves away.
"What?" My mother looks slightly panicked. She's been worried since his surgery something would go wrong and he'd be hurt and have to go back to the hospital.
"Someone kicked me," he chuckles looking up at me. "Somebody kicked me," his eyes go wide and I chuckle.
"They've been kicking me since last night." I smile fluffing his hair.
"You don't tell me anything do you?" He crosses his arms. "Oh by the way this isn't my real name, by the way I have this younger brother I didn't wanna tell you about." He rolls his eyes while my own go wide.
"I have a little brother?"
-
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," I smile at my grandparents and my little brother. He's nineteen, his girlfriend sits next to him. "The kids are asleep but feel free to roam and when you're ready I'll show you your rooms." I nod at my family. My grandparents look excited but my little brother who I've collected has the name Gabriel is not too pleased. "He's kicking again," I mumble to Shawn who runs his hand over my bump. He smiles at my family introducing himself getting my grandparents' approval very quickly.
"Would you like the grand tour?" He smiles standing and offering them a hand. My grandmothers argue over who gets his hand and he chuckles offering it to the both of them. "This is the kitchen," he mumbles.
"Gabriel," my mother scolds as they leave. His girlfriend is English and she doesn't speak French. "Shame on you for bringing her here," she shakes her head at him speaking in French of course.
"Why should it matter?" He errors and I sit somewhat awkwardly. "She's family," he shrugs. He looks like he was forced to do this and he's not very pleased with it.
"I'm gonna go find Shawn," I nod at him walking to find my husband in the chaos of our house. "Mom you can show them their rooms right?" She nods with a sigh.
"Goodnight darling," she smiles.
"Goodnight all," I smile back walking up the stairs and to my room. As I make my way past my grandparents room I hear Shawn's delicate voice home he tells them his story.
"No don't cry," his voice is soft and I watch him hug my grandmother. "I'm perfectly fine now, they got most of it with the surgery and we're just waiting for the chemo to finish it's work." He explains just like he did with our little girl.
"Ekatrina," my grandmother smiles with her thick Greek accent. "How've you been?" My grandmother on my moms side is Greek and my grandfather is English, on my dads side they're both French just from different places. My dad is born and raised in Paris which is where they decided they wanted to settle.
"Very well yiayoúla," yiayoúla is what I've called her since I was little, it's just a more affectionate way of saying grandmother in Greek. It's not how most would say it but that's how she taught it to me. "We're pregnant again," I smile and she gasps with joy as does my granddad. "And there's six of em," I giggle softly while they gasp. "Alright you should get to bed, its late." I smile sitting up. "Goodnight," I hug them both receiving kisses on either of my cheeks. "Welcome," I smile at them while walking out to visit my other grandparents while Shawn bids them his good nights.
"Good," she drags me into the room shutting the door quickly. "You're aware your husband is bald?" She stares at the door assuring he doesn't walk through.
"He has a whole story about it," I smile while he walks through. "I'm sure he'd tell you." I give him a questioning look.
"Of corse he will, we're family," my grandmother rolls her eyes at me.
"Grandmama," (said in a French accent) I point a little but Shawn lets a hand fall against my shoulder.
"She's not wrong babe," he whispers in my ear. "And I'm glad she thinks of me that way so leave it alone." He mumbles making them both laugh. "It's from my chemo." He explains with a smile. "I have cancer," he nods sadly his head resting gently atop mine. "And the chemo is working to get rid of what's left."
"I'm very sorry," my grandfather nods at him. "Thank you for your hospitality with your current situation."
"Anything she wants," he looks down at me. "She gets." He kisses my cheek. "Plus I wanted to meet you guys," he gives a childish smile.
"We're glad we get to meet you," my grandparents are still very young. They were both teenage parents.
"I'll see you in the morning, sleep well," I give them hugs and kisses on their cheeks as they do to me in return. Once I've finished they do the same to Shawn who gives me a smile because of their acceptance.
"Goodnight love," they wave at me. Their English as well as my aunts and uncles was learned for us. We are the sole reason they speak this foreign language. They learned it when I was born but they spent most of my childhood trying to teach me French. I did pick up very quickly though so Nathan and I spoke French more than English at home.
"So we'll need breakfast by seven thirty tomorrow morning," Gabriel starts while I walk out of their room.
"We don't do that," I raise an eyebrow at his demand. "We all eat as a family at about seven tomorrow so be up and ready the kids eat lots." I chuckle walking off with Shawn.
"You couldn't have even pretended like you would do it?" He rolls his eyes at me.
"He can't tell me what to do under my own roof. Plus I just met the guy fifteen minutes ago and he has not been very excited so I'm gonna leave it like that." I wrap my arms around him as far as they go while I'm in this stage. "A few more weeks," I stare down at the massive bump.
"Then we've got our mini me's." He giggles.
"I can't wait,"
