Slowly I opened my eyes and let out a silent yarn. I grudgingly sat up and grabbed the alarm clock, Ms. Peregrine gave me the first day I arrived and turned it off. The clock read 9:00 am, I had only slept for five hours. I don't know what kept me up that late but I just had an anxious feeling  of some sort. Anyways, I decided to take a deep breath in and shake of the anxious feeling to make me ready for the new day. I proceeded to slowly slid my feet into my slippers and head for my dresser. Due to the fact that my nightgown was severely burnt, Emma had given me one of hers. I removed my nightgown and grabbed the clothing I had planned the day before. I changed into a baby pink skirt just above my ankles, paired with a long sleeve button up top. I grabbed my personal hygiene products along with a face towel and walked out of my room. I closed the door behind me and headed in the direction of the bathrooms. The bathrooms were located on the other side of the house, one on each side and also facing each other. In the house we had simple rules for using the bathrooms. If the door was closed you had to knock and if the door is opened you may use it. I strolled to the bathroom on the left side and knocked.

"Occupied." Shouted Emma.

I checked the bathroom on the right side, it wasn't fully closed but it also wasn't fully opened. Nevertheless I decided to knock. No response came, so I walked in and closed the door behind me. I rubbed my eyes while turning around to face the bathroom and I could see a blurry figure bending over the sink. I rubbed my eyes again and the blurry figure came into focus. It was a shirtless Enoch bending over the sink, brushing his teeth. I *gasped*. The sound of my gasp must have startled Enoch as he jolted up a bit too fast, hitting his head on the shelf.

"Fuck." He shouted holding one hand on his head.

He looked into the mirror and our eyes locked, then he quickly turned around scowling at me.

"Get your arse out." He exclaimed.

"Uh um I-I-I'm soo sorry." I mustered out.

As I turned around to leave, I whipped my head a little too fast and hit my face. I let out a yelp but exited the bathroom as fast as I could. When I got out I could see that the other bathroom was now available. I quickly walked in and shut the door behind me. I looked into the mirror and could see that my right side of my face was starting to heal, but now the left corner of my forehead was a light shade of pink. It wasn't completely noticeable from a distance but if you stand close enough you could see difference. So I took a lock of hair and covered the bruised area. After using the bathroom, I put my products back into my room and headed downstairs for breakfast. When I walked passed the dining room to the kitchen, I could see Claire, Emma and the twins setting up the table while Enoch sits in his usual spot with a bag of ice on his head. When he saw me staring he gave one of his signature scowls, I quickly dropped my glaze to the floor. As I entered the kitchen I could see the other peculiars scurrying around. Most of them were running between the kitchen and the dinning room carrying bowls and plates of food. I helped by carrying a a plate of fried eggs to the table. When everything was brought to the table and everyone had sat down, we began to eat.

"Do remind me how you managed to hit your head Enoch." Asked Ms. Peregrine buttering her toast.

I stopped cutting my toast and glimpsed at Enoch, only to find out that he was already glaring at me.

He turned his gaze towards Ms. Peregrine and began talking. "As I said before, I was brushing my teeth and I was startled by a noise. I jolted my head up and accidentally hit my head on the shelf." Responded Enoch grudgingly.

"What noise?" Questioned Victor.

"An annoying noise." Answered Enoch.

"How can a noise be annoying?" Asked Victor.

"How can a noise not be annoying." Stated Enoch annoyed.

Victor opened his mouth and was about to say something when Ms. Peregrine interrupted him.

"Boys." Said Ms. Peregrine.

"Sorry." Sighed Victor while Enoch just shrugged.

I ate the rest of my breakfast in silence, while others were chatting. After breakfast everyone placed their plates into the kitchen sink and scurried off to do their own things. Except for Enoch and I, we were tasked with washing the dishes. As I placed my plate into the sink and poured the dish soap I could hear Ms. Peregrine and Enoch discussing.

"Shouldn't I be resting because I have an injury." Said Enoch.

"If you're healthy enough to argue than you're healthy enough to do the dishes. Besides, I think Olive could use the help." Responded Ms. Peregrine.

"Fine." He grunted.

I could hear Ms. Peregrine walk away and feel a presence behind me.

"What do you need help with?" Growled Enoch.

"Um, you can dry the dishes and put them back into the cupboards." I mustered.

I moved to the right to let him move in beside me. We stood side by side, our arms nearly touching. One by one I handed him the plates, he dried and place them back into the cupboards. We stood there awkwardly for what felt like an eternity, when I decided to break the silence.

"So about this morning...." I said but got interrupted.

"We don't have to talk about it." He responded.

"I think we do." I mumbled.

He sighed and turned toward me. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"

I was quite caught off guard by his actions and didn't know how to respond. So I just stared at him wide eyed and open mouth.

"Are you going to say something? Or are you going to keep staring at me?" He growled.

I sheepishly turned away from his intense stare, feeling my cheeks getting warmer. I took a deep breath and turned back to him.

"I'm sorry. Sorry that I startled you into hitting your head." I apologized.

"Apology accepted." He said but quickly added "Only because you got hurt too."

I gave him a small smile then turned my head toward the dishes. While I continued washing the dishes, I realized that I had became good friends with everyone at the children's home except for Enoch. Actually, I barely know anything about him. However, I think that Enoch and I have a possibility of becoming good friends. So I decided to break the silence between us once again.

"Enoch, can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Depends..... What is it?" He answered.

"What's your peculiarity?" I questioned while twisting around to look at him.

His eyes widened slightly but he was able to maintain his neutral face. Clearly he wasn't expecting me to ask him that.

"It's better if I show you." He responded while the sides of his mouth twitched up into a devious smirk.
