The first thing I hear is the sound of my alarm ringing. I open my eyes and sit up Turning the alarm off as I slip out of bed and waddle down the hall. I look at the date and immediately get excited. Tomorrow is the day my dreams come true. Well at least I hope. I've been doing performing arts all my life. When I was 5 I started to take voice lessons. I am extremely grateful that my parents could give me the opportunity growing up. I was brought up in quite a steady background. I always had food on my plate. A roof over my head. And walls to protect me. Even though we couldn't afford everything I still did drama club at my local theatre and me and my sister learnt dance from dvds and books until YouTube was invented. Now I'm 19 and pay for my own lessons. Singing acting is everything to me.
I make my way to the kitchen and grab a plate and a couple of pancakes then start eating. I go into a daze until I hear "Maddy. Maddy. Snap out of it." I look up and see my mom. She points at my top and I see I've dropped chocolate all down my front. We both laugh then I clean my plate and go to take a shower. I grab a dress. Short but not too short and my favourite books. After my shower I brush my teeth get dressed and do my make up. I leave my hair to air dry as I won't be going out till later and start on my studying and line revision. Balancing university and auditions is hard but it's totally worth it.
By the time I've finished my essay it's 4pm. I grab my shoes and put on a jacket before slipping my phone into my pocket. I put my keys in the pocket as well, kiss my mom goodbye then drive to campus. When I get there I run to the music room and throw my bag onto the floor "I'm here. I'm. Here" I say out of breath. My sister walks across the room laughing. "Hi Maddison" she says while getting papers out of her bag. She always calls me by my real name. We both do. Our mom calls us by nick names. I'm Maddy she's cait. And our dad just has weird names.
I take the papers from her and place them on the piano. My sister gives me singing lessons every few weeks just to see my progress. She's really proud of me and probably one of my biggest fans. She supports me so much and helps me through everything. We sing for a bit before heading to a cafe. This is when my life changed for ever...
