Before I could say anything, there was a knock at the door.Casper turns away and opens the door.
" What is it." Casper said.
" He's here." The young boy said.
Casper turned to me then back at the boy. " Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid."
The boy bowed then entered the room as Casper left.
"Hello miss Lakeman." The boy said. " My name is Johnathan."
" Who's here?" I blurted out. " Where's Casper going?"
Johnathan frowned at my question. " Don't worry yourself miss." The boy gave me a reassuring smile.
" Who's here." I say once more but with a more demanding tone.
He doesn't reply.
I walk up to him and reach my hand out to grab his arm, but he smacked my hand away and pulled out a gun.
" I wouldn't do that miss." He said while pointing the gun at me.
" Wh-what is this place." I say as I walked away from the boy.
He put the gun away and said. " This is are base. We're assasins working for Casper. He's the one who saved us. We will do anything for him." The boy had a small smile that quickly disappeared.
" Assassins?" I feel sick to my stomach knowing that everyone here were murdering freaks who could kill me any second.
"Casper saves people like me. People who grew up alone and afraid. People who needed to see the right path to take. And Casper showed us that path." He said.
" I don't understand... how is being a murderer the right path?" The fear in my voice showed loud and clear.
Johnathan glared at me. " We don't kill because we want to. We do it because thats the only way we can survive."
" Survive from what?" I ask.
The boy didn't answer me. He opened the door.
" I think I told you enough." Then he leaves.
Assassins...Little kids like him shouldn't be doing crap like this. Casper is one messed up person. There's no way... Roland is crazier than him. Doubt crept up my throught.
I stood in the small room, waiting for someone to come... But no one did.
I was hungry, tired and scared but I soon passed out later that night.
.I woke up around four in the morning to a loud thump near the door.
I squint my eyes open and look around the dark room. I almost forgot I wasn't at home.
Another sound came from outside. Raising my self off of the floor, I go to the door and place my ear against it to see if I could hear anything.
It was silent. All I could hear was the thumping of my heartbeat.
You're probably just hearing things... I say to myself.
I start walking back to the pillow that I slept on the floor with until I hear another sound.
This time it sounded like people talking.
I go back to the door and listen.
" How long are you gonna keep her?"
That was Johnathan's voice. Or so I thought.
"Until he shows up..."
That was Casper talking. " For now. We keep her in here."
