As I slowly wake to the sunlight drifting into my room, a knock sounds through the early morning silence. My handmaiden Lucy entered and started sorting through my dresses. "It is time to get up princess, your father has requested your presence in his chambers." I slowly get out of my bed and walk into my bath chambers with the golden gown Lucy gave me to change into. "Do you know what my father wishes to speak of?" I ask as I emerge back into my room and sit at my vanity as Lucy does my hair. "He did not say, princess, only that it was urgent."
I thank her and head towards my father's chambers, as I turn a corner I almost run into Sansa Stark. "Oh, Hello Sansa I did not see you my apologies, are you going to my little brother's chambers?" She glances up at me before her whole demeanor changes "Yes I was on my way to see my beloved Joffrey." I gave a tight-lipped smile as she bragged, she noticed and smirked at me "You're jealous... you're jealous because you are much older than I am and still not married" I took a step closer to her "Despite what you might think I feel pity for you, my little brother is a monster and I am the first born child and daughter of Robert Baratheon I would be careful what you say little dove."
As I entered my father's chambers my mother stood by his side with a displeased look on her face. "You wished to see me, father?" He nodded and sat in his chair, I walked forward and sat down in a chair as well. "You are to marry Oberyn Martell, he will be here in a few days time and you will marry within the month." I was shocked since when did my father even start considering suitors, my mother looked to me disappointed "In truth, you should have been married after your first bleed, my darling daughter, your 20th name day was three moons ago. You will greet him at the gates of kingslanding with Tyrion." I stood up and paced the room for a little while, "Father why do you intend to make me marry a man I have never met and is famous for fucking half of Westeros?" My father sighed as he drank some more wine, my mother walked to me and held my face in her hands "My sweet Adelaide, this was you grandfathers idea to unite houses Baratheon, Lannister, and Martell once again. It was my wish that you never be shipped off to that horrid country." I sucked in a deep breath and stepped away from my mother's hands, "May I be excused, I would like to get some air." My father nodded his head, "Of course, I hope you realize I always have your best interest at heart" and with that, I nodded and left the room.
