Chapter 5

Shawn went with the waitress to ask for a table while I tried to turn on my phone to send a message to Jen, but it was impossible since my phone had died. I gave up and put my phone away in a pocket of my jeans. And that's when it hit me, I didn't have any money with me, how am I supposed to pay for breakfast, I know he told me he was going to invite me, but at least I should offer paying the food. What can I do? Should I stay quiet and let him pay? Or can I go ask for money? Oh I know I can pay from my phone, from the bank app, of course why didn't I though of it before. I went to grab my phone and I clicked the button to unlock it, damn I forgot my phone is dead.

"Hey! The waitress told me that they're full but that a table for 2 is about to leave. So they gave me this beeper, to let us know when we are next, she said it will take about 5-10 minutes. Do you want to stay or we can go and search for another place, somewhere more calm." Shawn said and then showing me the beeper all excited.

"Umm" What do I tell him? I don't want to let him pay for all the breakfast, and not even offer to pay a part. I know I can tell him if we can go to a restaurant near my place, and then I go to my place and get some money. I was about to answer when the beeper started beeping.

"Hey that was fast, let's go I'm starving."

"Yeah, let's go" damn what am I going to say, you know what I'm not going to eat, I don't know what I'm going to say but I'm not going to eat and let him pay for everything. I know it sounds stupid, but I hate it when people you just met doesn't even offer to pay a part. I mean if its with someone you know and there's friendship, well damn sure I'll let them pay, but not with someone I just met.

The waitress guided us through a lot of tables and we finally arrived to a table for two that was in a corner, it looked pretty well hidden. I guess Shawn asked for a place like this so he wouldn't be noticed by the media. We sat down and the waitress gave us the menu and left.

"So what are you going to ask for?" Shawn asks me while eyeing the menu.

"Oh I'm not eating."

"What?! Why not?" He asks me putting down his menu and looking at me with a shocked expression.

"I'm not hungry."

"You told me twice you were starving not so long ago."

"Well I changed my mind."

"Okey, now you are lying to me I can see it on your face. Why don't you wanna eat? You don't' like eating in front of people? Is that it?"

"What?!? No! If there's something I am comfortable of is eating, even in front of people."

"Then, what is it?" He asked me rising an eyebrow.

"I didn't brought any money, so I can't pay my part. And I-"

"I told you that breakfast was on me. You don't need to pay anything." Shawn interrupted me.

"Yes I need to, I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing I let you paid for all."

"Its fine, believe me It doesn't bothers me to pay you breakfast."

"Well it bothers me."

"So what you are going to do, let me eat alone, and just watch me eat?"

"Umm, yeah."

"Noo! You are eating with me."

"Fine, but if you promise that you will accept the money I will give you when you take me home. Wait, can you give me a ride home please?"

"Sure" he says with a chuckle, "And no I'm not accepting your money"

"Fine then I won't eat."

"Ohh come on!"
