Mitch sat as he waited for Jerome to show at the coffee shop. He twiddled his thumbs and sat on his phone for a good 5 minutes, which seemed like eternity to him. Then a familiar chime from the bell hanging above the door rang in his ears. He recognized the big nosed guy that walked in to be his best friend and new found love, Jerome.
Mitch avoided getting any drinks until Jerome got here so he could surprise him by getting Jerome's favorite. He knew exactly what Jerome got by heart. Jerome always ordered a Samoa Frappuccino which is a Mocha Coconut Frappuccino with Carmel Drizzle and extra whip cream. And Mitch always ordered a mix of a Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino with cinnamon dolce syrup.
A flash of confusion and disbelief was displayed on Jerome's face as Mitch ordered his favorite drink. He only guessed that Mitch had memorized it because they were best friends. On the other hand, Jerome had bought coffee with Mitch numerous times, and he gets the same thing every time.
Mitch motioned Jerome to come sit at their special table. The owner or the coffee shop "Take A Sip" noticed how many times the boys came in, and offered to give them their own table. The boys gratefully accepted and have sat at that table for over two years. When ever one is feeling down, this is where there go. Someone has happy news this is where they go. Someone has breaking/important new, this is where they go. Which is exactly why Mitch called Jerome over.
Mitch has been friends with Jerome for exactly 11 years as of today. Three years ago Mitch started to notice things he never had before. Everything about Jerome seemed to be flawless. Even Jerome's big nose had become adorable to Mitch. But he felt the need to tell Jerome, seeing as it breaks his heart to see Jerome without him.
As they sat down, Mitch removed the drink from Jerome's hands and replaced the empty spot with his own. It's now or never was the only thing racing through his mind. While Jerome on the other hand was slightly confused. He felt flustered every where, like he felt the need to move, but was completely unable to move. All he did was stare into Mitch's eyes.
"Jerome, I have been meaning to tell you something for the past 3 years. I-I love you, and before you start saying 'I love ya too buddy' I mean that I love you. More than you could ever know. I feel something every time I look at you, and have for the past three years, I just hope that either you feel the same way, or you're okay with the fact that I love you."
Jerome sat there speechless. His mouth was wide open but nothing came out. He felt as though he was frozen solid. Mitch just slightly nodded his head, and accepted the fact that he ruined the chances with the only person he's ever loved. Mitch let go of Jerome's hands and started to get up, while Jerome still shocked sat at the table. Finally able to move and speak he ran after Mitch who was at the door of the coffee shop.
"Mitch wait!" Jerome pleaded. Mitch only turned around to be greeted by a pair of lips pushing against his. He could feel the big nose of someone he knew all to well brush his own. He tried to block out any other noises was impossible and his ears were flooded with "Awe!"s and "Amazing!"s. One voice in particular stood out to him. After Mitch and Jerome finished their first of many embraces, their heads turned to the shop owner.
"I always knew you two would end up together. Which is exactly why I gave you that corner. It brought you closer together. I'm so happy for the both of you," explained the short little old lady who went by the name Velvet. Jerome and Mitch walked over to Velvet and engulfed her in a bear hug, making the little lady squeak a little. Only resulting in laughter from Mitch and Jerome. "Coffee? On the house boys!" shouted Velvet.
