The waves crashed against the sandy shore. The sun kissed the cove. My eyes cracked open. A wave of pain trailed through my body. I slowly sit up only to be knocked back down by an oncoming wave. I manage to crawl up farther onto the cove. My crisp, red skin boiled in the sunlight. I cringe for a moment and then continue to crawl into the shade. I examine my surroundings. There is no one else here. I am all alone.
I need to find a better shelter from this searing sun. I attempt to stand up but my horrible sunburn causes my pain. I bare the pain and finally get up. I wander through the-what-seems-like-endless jungle. I pant from dehydration and almost vomit by the putrid smell of the sea. My clothes are stuck to my body. I come across a small, slowly flowing river. I quickly kneel down and drink a handful of water. I rip off my wet clothes and soak them in the freshwater river. I take them out and carefully lay them out next to my pack, in the sun to dry. I slip into the river and let the cold water soothe my aching body. I submerge underwater and feel relaxed. I float back up. I try my best to get rid of the salty sea smell. I slowly climb out of the river and put back on my damp clothes. I dip my pack into the river to rid it of its salty smell. I slide it on and then head back to exploring this never ending jungle.
I take any fruit I can find. Some of my supplies are missing due to my fall. I need to get as much as I can if I'm going to survive. I hope I'm not too far away from Vegas. Damien is probably safe and sound back at our house with his family. To be honest, I don't know how long I was lying on that cove. It could have been a day, or even a month. He has probably moved on by now. I almost start to cry. All that matters now is getting back home to him.
I wander endlessly through the jungle, hoping to find its end. Darkness falls from the horizon. I decide to rest for now and continue my long trek in the morning. I lie on the cold ground. I nestle my head into a patch of grass while the rest of my body lies on top of sharp twigs. They feel somewhat comfortable. I shut my tired eyes and try to fall asleep. It is too quiet. It seems like there was no wildlife here at all. I really am all alone.
The night was rough. The silence could have killed me. The deadly silence. I brush the twigs off my clothes and the grass out of my hair. I begin to walk yet again. It is very tedious to walk through this ongoing jungle. Suddenly, I hear a noise coming from the east. Whatwasthat? I don't know if it is an enemy or if the animals have finally come out. I don't want to stick around and find out. I run full blast. The noise gets closer and closer to me. I feel a sharp pain in my back and then fall down, face first, onto the ground. Ican'tmove! I hear laughter in the distance. "I caught my little star!" "How did you get here!? How did you find me!?" "I have my ways. Now, let's get this dart out of your back." He yanks it out. "Where's Damien!?" "Don't worry about him. He managed to escape my clutches...for now." "You, you-" "Shh!" He throws me over his shoulder. "You'll soon be going to sleep. When you wake up...well, wouldn't want to ruin the surprise." "You bastard!" I try to move. "What was in that dart?" "A little concoction I made." He begins to walk. He then chuckles. "You should be asleep by now. You are one tough bitch." I would make a comeback but I feel light headed. Everything begins to spin. I finally pass out.
"Wakey, wakey." I turn to my side. "Five more minutes." I mutter. I feel a hand travel up and down my back. I smile and let out a light chuckle. I turn onto my back and gently open my eyes. I scream and cover myself with the blanket. He let's out a horrendous laugh. "Wh-Where are we?" "In a place that you don't need to know. Now," He climbs on top of me. "Let's get these pesky clothes of yours off." I scream and push him off me. I realize that I can move again. I get up and run to the door. "Dammit!" "Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide." "My gun..." I reach where my pack should be. "It's gone!" "Looking for this." He holds up my pack. "Give it back!" He tosses it out of the window. "Now come here my little star." I run towards him and push him out of the way. I lookout the window. "It. is a far jump to the ground. You'll die if you jump." "I'm willing to take that risk." I jump out the window and fall to the ground. I holler out in pain. I felt like I broke a couple of bones. I knab my pack and limp away.
