"Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it, you can never get it back."

prologue|
The two adolescents sat; staring blankly at a sheet of line paper.
"We're never getting this assignment finished, Katie." Aspen stated.
"We'll think of something." Katie grasped onto the handle of a pencil and scribbled along the lines. Her eyebrows furrowed as a thought process occured in her mind.
Everyone wonders what they would become in the future. What will become of your friends? Family members? That cousin you really hate? The reality is that we kids would love to grow up. But once we do, we wish we could go back. Ironic isn't it?
Think about it.
Let it sink in.
Now, we [yes, we] have a question for you:
"Wait, wait, wait," Katie looked up from her work and stared at her partner's skeletal sweater. "don't i get a say in this?"
Reluctantly, she handed the eager girl her pencil. Aspen continued the work.
what or who do you think you'll become in the future; based on your persona and/or actions? Is your future really that predictable?
An irritated expression was displayed across Katie's features.
"What?" her partner cocked an eyebrow and held the pencil mid-air.
"That's two questions, Aspen." She rolled her eyes.
okay, that was two questions, but you get our point.
this story is based on a class of students somewhere in this world; where two adolescents decided [or more like, were assigned] to write about their classmates in the present and future tense.
"is that good enough for you?" Aspen asked in an annoyed tone.
"Just get on with the story."
