Prologue
People change. Things happen. But I never had thought about how it would affect me. It seems like it was so long ago; another lifetime. When in reality it hadn’t even been a year. As he turned to leave he looked at me one last time. His silver blue eyes sliced through the air. His words only reassuring me of his disgust. “I…I can’t—“ he cuts himself off, and closes his eyes for a moment, and opens them to see a breath of air escape his mouth. I start to recount the past few days, trying to sort everything out. ‘When did everything change?’, ‘Why did it all have to go so wrong?’, ‘Why did I let it fall apart?’ Then I begin to remember. Back in September, everything changed. Seven months ago. That’s all. Only seven months since… I had met him.
