Prompt: Write a Drabble [100 words] on what horrors (or surprises) could it reveal and complete the following sentence: She's sitting on the couch when he comes home. Her dark eyes are frozen in fear and face is a mask of horror. "It'll be hard to get in there," she said. Her expressions altered and a satisfied grin came over his smug face. "Let's get going then..."
She felt herself float, a phantom, following him. Her stomach whirled at a swift turn of the corner; she realized she was in the car, riding beside him.
The next events occurred like a scratched DVD.
His "ingenious" plan. Car parked. He stays, she goes. Sneaking out. Dark eyes now blank. Silent steps, distant hushed cautions. Secret camera. Sudden high frequencies. Blurs. Dog barks, glass breaks. Innocent screams, bloody hands. Hurried floating. In car again, treasure/goal acquired. Broken glass can be repaired, not broken hearts.
"We caught her on camera," police discover.
Hesitation.
"Her? She's been dead for seven years."
