Aya's POV:
Now I stood in front of the high school that me and Aiden both dreaded so much.
An ugly cream colored building with two stories and small fogged glass windows. Walking step by step into this building is the hardest part. Death glares and ugly looks from everyone. We are pretty much the only kids in school that looked out of place. But it was because we are poor kids in a rich school. We only got in on scholarship because we have amazing G.P.A.'s and respectable behavior.
I watched my feet, making sure my head stayed down. I pulled my head up when a pair of black converse blocked my path. "Hey, girl!" a rough, deep voice spoke. "Drake..." I muttered quietly.
Drake's POV
Her ebony and red streaked hair cascading down her back and her eyes emotionlessly staring at her old, tattered, red Converse. A minority, she is. A poor scholarship student. Why though does she never seem happy. Aya always seems far off in her mind. I wish I could help her.
"Hey girl!!!" I said sounding a bit too rough. Her head started peaking up a bit at me.
"What do you want, Drake..."
"Are you okay?" I tried to soften my voice a bit so I wouldn't sound as if I were mocking her.
"Fine." she said going around me and heading towards her locker, this time her head held high.
Aya's POV
The teacher had been rambling on about how J.F.K had been part of the Vietnam War. She doesn't't realize that ten students are asleep, three left class and that the rest were either texting or doodling in the textbooks.
Finally, the bell chimes and we all rush into the already crowded hallways. I make my way twisting and turning through crowds just to get to Algebra 2.
"Psst... Aya!", a deep whisper came
Drake POV
"Psst... Aya!" I whispered from inside the closet. I had a full view of her long dark hair and slim figure until she turned around to face me in the closet. I grabbed her arm and tugged her into the closet, slamming the door behind her.
