"Marona... that's an unusual name." The elderly woman said to me while I bagged her groceries. "Yeah, it's family name." I said back in a polite tone, I hate working here, nobody comes to econo-foods anymore, the food is always expired or close to it. "hm, well then your family must have a story to tell then." She said in a amused tone.

I didn't reply because I myself don't really know the story, my family always changes the subject when I bring it up.

"Have a good day ma'am." I said and handed her her small bag with a small smile on my face, "You too dear." she said with a smile on her face and made her way to the door.  You can head home early Mar." My manager said to me from the next register over.

"Okay, thank you." I said with a sign of relieve. Its been a slow day, maybe only four or five customers within the past three hours. I started to walk away from my station at the register and to the backroom that leads to my locker.

"Mar, phone call." my co-worker Stacy said to me when I walked into the room. She has long blonde hair and brown eyes and her shirt unbuttoned a little too low if you ask me.

"Its your mom." Oh?  I took the phone, "Hello?" I said cautiously, "Hey honey, your grandfather just passed away.....come home soon, he left a Will." She sounded serious but her voice quivered a little when she said 'will'.

"Okay, manager just told me I was done for the day, I'll be home soon." I hung up the phone on the wall and quickly went to go grab my stuff, I'm not going to change today I guess...

Why did mom sound so serious on the phone??
