Finally. 3 more blocks and I'm already in my first subject, which is Calculus. I'm lucky I've got something to entertain me for an hour and a half, 4 times a week. I don't know what made me love Calculus. I know Calculus pisses a lot of people, but I think I love it as much as everybody hates it. Actually it has only two branches, the differential calculus, and integral calculus. Oops wait. Nerdo alert. I entered the room and Proffessor Howie is nowhere to be found. The room was all crowded up, the usual classroom set-up. We have the 'Bad Boys' which includes Jace and the rest of his frat, the famous girls, the football team, the normal human beings and last but not the least, the loser, the loner, the douchebag, the weak, the nerdo and the geek which is no other than me. The throne belongs to the one and only Marcel Styles. As I started walking down the aisle, I received different impressions from everybody which is apparently not pleasing at all. I sat on the second row, unfortunately, because the first row has been taken by somebody already. Too bad. I always prefer sitting on the first row. I don't know, I just feel a lot more comfortable, you know, away from the jerks and I think I can process everything that's being taught than that of sitting behind the...
"Good Morning class!", Mr. Howie breaks through my thoughts as he hurried inside the room. He checks his wrist watch and a frown was formed in his face. "I'm 5 minutes late. Um, not bad after all.", he says while getting his stuffs in place. Everyone else inside the room hurried back to their places, and in not less than ten seconds, the sound of silence passionately echoed the room. "Well. Before we get going with our lesson for Quarter 4, I want all of you to meet our new student, Christina Wright. She's a student exchange from NYU." , Mr. Howie introduced the new student. Blonde girl, pale skin and I guess I'm a few inches taller than her. Her hair falls just above her waist. "You may now find your seat Ms. Wright.", Mr. Howie managed to sound nice and he even led her to the seats. The new student shifts her eyes on every side of the room as she searches for a nice place to sit in.
It's already been two minutes and she's still there, standing in the middle of the class, looking for a seat. I hope she also knows that she's actually interrupting the class about now. She continued looking and I accidentally caught her stare which is now locked on the chair beside mine. No. You aren't going to sit beside me. The new student walked closer and closer and I almost gave her my best puppy eye but she doesn't seem to get it. She smiled at me instead and...
"Hi!", she greeted me right away as she tugged on her knee-level skirt. I already noticed the whole class staring at us. "You know we usually answer 'hi's' with 'hello' back in New York.", she says while she grabs some of her calculus materials. Of course I do know about that! But I guess that isn't the best idea for now.
"Well you're in the UK you know. Don't expect me to do the same thing as what people in your state does.",I rudely replied. In all honesty, I don't mean it to be sounding so rude. It is the only way to tell her that I'm not the type of guy to be friends with.
"Oh.",she frowned. "Well nice meeting you again.", What?
"What?", I mumbled out the word as silently as I can.
"Yeah. You were that guy at the hallway looking for your glasses right?", she turned her face to me. Her smile was hopeful. I know exactly what she's thinking about now. She thinks I'm going to take that as a way of thanking her. I'm not gonna do that. Not now.
"Oh.", I answered. In all honesty, that caught me off guard. And I was actually trying to be rude for the past 5 minutes now which is certainly the opposite of the real Marcel. So the reason why she helped me with my glasses is because she doesn't know anything about what's been going on between me and the whole campus - yet. I turned my face back to the board leaving her with her expectations.
"Yeah. Thanks!", she whined and rolled her eyes on me. Of course she was expecting me to say 'Thanks'. Girls and their expectations. Woah. Did that sounded really rude? I didn't really mean it to sound like that you know?
