Sometimes it feels like things are impossible. I, Elise McCready, mostly known as Axelle Kenway, would know that out of all people.

The odds have always been stacked against me. I always thought I would never been women's champ but here I am, Smackdown LIVE's women's champion. I always thought I was never gonna make friends here because of how shy I am, but here I am with my best friends Becky and Charlotte.

It's a pretty cliché thing to say "Never give up" but hey, it does work. Thanks John. Anyways, even though I've done great things in my career and personal life, there's one thing I can't seem to do.

Claim the heart of Shinsuke Nakamura.

Yes, I've fallen for the one and only Shinsuke Nakamura. It was easy falling in love with him, I mean how could you not love that guy? But telling it to him is harder than it seems.

Does he even know I exist? Sure, we talk sometimes, but does he consider me as a friend? Notice how I said "sometimes". Me being me, I don't really talk to people that much. Inside the ring I'm a sassy confident woman who never backs down, but outside the ring I'm the complete opposite.

I wish I could get Shinsuke to notice me... it sounds cringy I know, but come on we're talking about Shinsuke Nakamura. How can a girl like me impress a guy like him?

Just as I'm thinking, I hear Charlotte having a conversation with the one and only Shinsuke. Speak of the devil.

"So what did you say about my moonsault?" Charlotte asks.

"Your form is perfect. I like it." Shinsuke compliments her which makes her chuckle. Oh the things I would do to be in her position.

"Hey Axelle, your match is up next." A backstage worker tells me. Oh right! I'm going up against Natalya.

This would be the perfect opportunity to show off my moves and get the attention of Shinsuke. But what moves should I do? Maybe something I've never done before. What about-

"Elise what cha thinking about?" All of a sudden Charlotte is in front of me smiling like an idiot. She knows about my crush on Shinsuke and she's been trying to get us together several times. I'm surprised he hasn't figured out what she's doing.

"Well, my match is next. I'm thinking of moves I could do to impress Shinsuke." Charlotte suddenly puts on a wicked smile like she knows exactly what to do.

"What about a moonsault? Shinsuke loves those."

"I know, I heard you talking to him. And no, I am not jealous." I reply.

Charlotte chuckles and pats my head. She tells me good luck and leaves. Should I do a moonsault? I've never done one before...

Time skip to the match

I'm tired. Natalya is tired. Even the referee is tired from counting all the pins. Natalya sure is some tough competition. The match is scheduled to end soon, and I'm suppose to win.

Instead of doing my signature move and pinning her right after, I decide to do what Charlotte said. A diving moonsault.

I go up on the turnbuckle and the referee looks at me with a confused look. He knows I'm suppose to do my signature move, but he can't say anything otherwise it'll make the fans suspicious.

I jump off and it feels as if time slows down. I see the referee who for some reason, is rushing towards me, and Natalya, who's lying on the mat with wide eyes. It feels like one of those times when you see your life flash before your eyes. I don't know why it just did that to me, but then I realize why.

All of a sudden I come into contact with Natalya and the mat. But it's mostly the mat. There's a pain surging through my body and mostly in my neck. I can't see anything, I'm too weak to open my eyes.

I can hear people yelling, I just don't know who, and I can hear people shuffling around me. They're talking to me, but I don't know what they're saying. All of a sudden everything is black.

Time skip

"Elise? Can you hear me? Elise?"

I slowly open my eyes and I see medical staff. Charlotte is also here, but so is Shinsuke.

"Ah, you're awake. Elise do you know what happened?" one of the staff asks me.

"No?" I respond. I really don't.

"You almost snapped your neck trying to execute a moonsault, you need to be more careful and let someone know if you're going to perform a different move. Luckily, there aren't any serious injuries. You just landed on the side of your head. You may experience neck pain, so I suggest you rest your neck. You're free to go once we inform Shane and Daniel."

Charlotte says something to the medical staff which makes them leave. Shinsuke approaches me while Charlotte sits in the chair next to my bed.

"Why did you... do it?" he asks me. His voice is soft and he looks at me with... sorrow?

I look at him. Then I look at Charlotte. She nods and leaves.

"I- I... really just wanted you to notice me. Be impressed by what I do." I don't look at him when I say it, but I know he's looking at me.

I feel his hand hold my chin to make me look at him.

"You didn't have to."

"I know..."

There's a pause. It's silent. We continue to look at each other until he sighs.

"Elise, Charlotte told me everything. I know you like me. I know that she's been trying to get us together. I know. But I need to tell you something, I like you too. I've tried to get your attention as well, but I've never done anything this bizarre."

We both chuckle. Wait. Did he say he liked me? I look at him and he smiles at me. Then his smile disappears.

"You need to rest. I'll go." Just as he's about to leave, I grab his arm.

"Please, don't." He looks at me then sits on the side of the bed.

He kisses the top of my forehead which makes me smile. I suddenly feel tired and yawn. He notices this and gets up. I don't want him to leave, but he does anyways.

But before he left, he said 3 words I'll never forget.

"I love you."
