The next day, Tails and the gang went over to pick up Sonic to go to the festival. "I hope Sonic really does come to the festival this year." Amy said worried. "Don't worry Amy. He said he would come with us today, and he doesn't go back on his word." Blaze reassured her. Then Tails turned to them and said, "Alright guys. This is the first summertime festival Sonic's been to in years, so we have to make it great so he won't have to avoid it anymore." " Tails is right. We can't let Sonic keep hiding from it because of a bad memory. So let's fill it with some good new memories." Silver agreed. "We'll make sure he has fun." Cream said. "Yeah, there's tons of stuff to do at the festival. We all get to show him what we love most about it and maybe he'll change his mind about it!" Amy exclaimed. "Then let's get going guys!" Knuckles said and they picked up the pace to Sonic's house.

Once they arrived at Sonic's place, they knocked on the door waiting for him to answer. Finally it opened and appeared Sonic. "Hey Sonic. You ready to go?" Tails greeted him. Sonic looked hesitate for a bit, but then he said, "I'm ready" "Great. Then let's get going." Silver said and with that, they left to the summertime festival.
When they arrived, they found the whole town was decorated for the festival. There were colorful banners and lanterns hung all over the place. Balloons were tied in bunches everywhere in different colors. There were stands that sold great food or offered games to play for prizes. Rides of all sorts were set up for everyone to enjoy like bumper cars and even a small roller coaster. Finally, the last and best part of it was a stage set up with elegant curtains and spotlights just for a band to play live music.
The whole gang was in awe by how all of Station Square had out did themselves for the festival. "This is just amazing!" Amy said with excitement. Everyone agreed while Sonic just said, " Wow. I forgot how nice the summertime festival looked." His friends turned to him after he said that. "It's even more fun than it looks." Knuckles told him. "We're gonna make sure you have the best time here. You get to enjoy everything you missed out." Tails told him. "Yeah, but where do we even start?" He asked. Then Silver perked up and said, "I know! Come on guys!" And everyone followed him.

They all stopped by the games area at a shooting targets booth. "I always love trying out the games first. Try and win a prize from this game." Silver told him. "Alright. I'll give it a try." Sonic said. So he payed the guy at the booth and took one of the air rifles along with his friends. "Shoot the edge to get 50 points and shoot the center for 100 points. First to 1000 points wins a prize." The guy explained "Ready... GO!" And they started shooting. Some of them hit the edge more than they the center while others had better aim. Then the alarm bell sounds and they stopped shooting. "And it looks like we have a tie between the blue hedgehog and silver hedgehog. So you both get a prize." The booth guy told them. "Alright. I think I'll take the panda." Sonic told him and the man gave him the stuffed panda bear. " I think I'll take the stuffed kitten." Silver asked and he gave them the white and purple kitty and gave it to Blaze. Then Sonic decided to give the panda to Amy. "Thanks" she said with a smile while he looked nervous, " You're welcome. So, where to next?" He asked. Then Knuckles stepped up and said, "I know. Let's hit the rides!"

The gang followed Knuckles to the spinning cups ride. "This is a great ride to start out. Who's ready to get dizzy?" He said excitedly "Yeah!" They all shouted as they got on. Sonic and Knuckles sat in one cup, Silver and Blaze sat in another and Amy, Cream and Tails went in a third one. "I love these fast spinning rides. Try not to get too dizzy after this one Knux." Sonic said to him a little cocky like. Knuckles just rolled his eyes at him. "Just hold on and we'll see who gets dizzy the most." He said. Once everyone was strapped into their seats, the ride started and all the cups began spinning around and around. Everyone screamed for joy as they held on to the handle bar in the cup.
After the ride stopped, the gang got off and felt all dizzy. "That was a crazy ride! I can do this all day!" Sonic said. They all noticed he was having fun "It's working! He's enjoying himself and not worrying." Tails whispered to the gang. Blaze stepped up and said "Then let's not stop now." She walked up to Sonic and told him where to go next.

"I always enjoy watching performers at the festival doing all sorts of tricks." She showed them to a stage where a troop of acrobats were getting ready for their performance. "Then let the show begin!" Sonic said with excitement. So the acrobatics show started with the crowd applauding.
They did all sorts of backflips, somersaults, and handstands. A few hopped on to bar hanging from above and swung around like a trapeze at the circus. The gang was absolutely amazed at the show. For the final trick, they did a large pyramid on top of each other. The audience clapped for their performance while Sonic turned to Blaze. "That was awesome! Good call Blaze." He told her while she smiled with pride. "It was nothing Sonic. Now who's turn is it next?" Then Cream raised her hand and said, "My turn! I now where to go!"

They followed Cream all the way to the petting zoo where there were sheep, horses, piglets, goats, rabbits and many other non-mobian animals. "This is where Cream wanted us to go next?" Knuckles asked skeptically. "Come on Knux. We had a turn so now it's Cream's turn to pick." Silver told him. "Besides, it's fun to see all the animals. They're so cute!" Amy said as she swooning over the adorable animals. She start petting the sheep and their baby lambs.
Silver and Blaze were with the bunny rabbits hugging and petting them. "Aww. Aren't you just adorable little bunny." Silver said holding a white and brown spotted rabbit while Blaze just shook her head with a smile.
Knuckles felt something nudging his leg so he checked what was it. "What the.... Oh! Hey there little guy." What he saw nudging him was a baby goat kid. So he picked up the baby goat to show to Tails. "Hey Tails, I think this little guy likes me. Woah!" He found him riding on the back of a foal. "That's great that goat kid likes you. This little horse seems pretty fond of me." He said while petting the foal's mane.
Cream was with Sonic where the baby chicks and ducklings were. She was holding a chick in her hands and gave for him to hold. "Why do want me to hold it?" He asked "Petting a cute little animal always makes me happy. Maybe you'll like hold this little chick." She said while giving it to him. Sonic, still looking skeptical, started petting the chick and started to really enjoy it. Cream smiled while petting a duckling.

After the petting zoo, the gang washed their hands and went to eat lunch. They were about done while they were talking about what to do next. "So, who wants to pick what to do next?" Tails asked. "I think I haven't picked yet." Amy said. "Alright Ames, what's your decision?" Sonic asked her. Amy looked around for a minute until she found something that caught her eye. A crowd of people were gathered where music was playing and they were all dancing with partner. She smiled and said "Come on" as she pulled Sonic by the arm to join in. "I don't know Amy. I'm not much of a dancer." Sonic said nervously to her. "Come on Sonic. It'll be fun I promise." She tempted him. They started to dance together with the crowd as their friends watched them. "They look like they're having fun together." Silver said. "Then why don't we join in." Said Cream. So they headed towards the dancing crowd (they had to drag Knuckles there cause he refused) Silver was dancing with Blaze, Tails was with Cream, and Knuckles was with a white bat. They all kept dancing and having fun until they got tired.

They spent they whole day at the Summertime festival going on rides, eating snacks, and just having fun. It really did cheer up Sonic and got his mind off his worries.
It was already dark when they all stopped for one more event. "You guys were right. Today was awesome! Thanks for inviting me." Sonic said. "We're just glad you finally got to enjoy the festival again. There's even time for one more event." Tails said as it was his turn to pick. "For my favorite event, it's the fireworks show and it's gonna start in a few minutes." He said with excitement. They were all sitting down in a spot near the center of town ready for the fireworks to start. "It's the right night for fireworks too." Amy commented. "Yeah you're right. The stars are bright, the sky is clear ....And so is the moon." Silver said as he observed the sky.
"Wait, what!? Sonic said alarmed. "You're right Silver. There's always been hedgehog silhouette on the moon for a while now but it's not there anymore." Blaze said as she looked at the moon. Sonic looked at the moon and saw they were right, the silhouette of Manic's face was no longer on the moon. He knew what this meant. "Oh no. Hey guys, I think we need to get going." He said with concern while they all looked at him surprised. "Go? But the fireworks are about to start." Cream said "I really think it would be a good idea to head home, where it's safe." He muttered the last part. "Come on Sonic, if it's about your problem again, it can wait. You promised to stay for the whole thing so just relax." Knuckles told him sternly. Then Amy pointed at the sky and said, " Look! The fireworks are starting!" And they were. Fireworks lit up the sky with various colors. They all looked up in amazement. "See Sonic, there's nothing to worry about." Said Tails. But as he said that, they saw a bright green streak coming down and crash near where they were.
"What was that!" Everyone but Sonic said. Then Sonic stood up and said quietly, "He's here."
