"Good morning, Shadow!" A sweet, high-pitched voice squealed with joy. 6-year-old Shadow the Hedgehog looked to see his best friend, Maria Robotnik, kneeling next to his bed. He smiled at her and stretched. He couldn't believe that it had been a year since he and his brothers; Sonic and Silver; had been captured on the Space Colony ARK. This place, which had at first seemed like a dungeon, now felt like home. Shadow loved living on the ARK more than he loved living on Mobius. The days he had spent on his home planet were nothing compared to the fun he's experienced on the ARK. There, he spent his days playing 'tag' with his brothers, or sweetly reading stories with Maria. Sometimes for a change, though, he'd spy on Dr. Eggman with Rouge, and try to foil his plots to take over the world. Shadow was not too fond of this idea, but went along with it because Rouge was his best friend. To sum it up, his days on the Space Colony ARK have been priceless, and he wouldn't trade anything in the world for them.
