Brendon's mind must have gone back to high school. Where when he was having an attack, he would tell people to call his mother. He had not had an attack since high school. Seeing Ryan must have triggered an attack. He had quite ironically just panicked at the disco.
Ryan grabbed B by the shoulders and lifted him up. Still having to assure people of his wellness.
He carefully walked Brendon to the nearest bathroom. Luckily it was not far from where the main gathering was. It was just down the left hallway.
Ryan must have been in there 20 minutes. He had gotten paper towels wet and placed them on B's forehead as a way ( well, as an attempt ) to cool him down and maybe help a little. The nurse has used ice packs, Ryan remembered, and this was close enough.
A lot of guys knocked. Ryan told them it was going to be a while and directed them through the door to the upstairs bathroom. ( He had been to plenty of parties here before. )
Ryan still thought Brendon was adorable when he was asleep. He felt good carrying him again. It was just like old times. Which when you think about it means he had it pretty dark back then, but he still did not mind.
Just then, Brendon's phone went off in his back pocket. Ryan was honestly surprised it wasn't broken. The sound snapped him awake.
" Wha- " He put a hand on his head removing the towels that stuck as he jolted, sitting up abruptly. He looked around, taking in what had happened, putting 2 and 2 together.
" Oh no! I'm so sorry! "
Like I said, and Ryan was just reminded of this, they weren't as close as before. " You didn't have to do this! You should have just left me and gone on with your night. I'm sure I ruined your night! I didn't mean to... I'm ... just really sorry! I haven't ... not since high school..."
" B, "
" Huh? "
" B "
Ryan chuckled.
" I seriously didn't mind! "
" Really? "
Brendon's deep, brown eyes shimmered up at Ryan and he gave him a hand to help him up.
" I'm no liar, "
That was for sure. Ryan was known for being truthful.
Brendon nodded. Not sure how to respond now.
He pulled out his phone to check what it was the awoken him.
It was from Sarah.
He texted her back.
Hey, baby. What's up?
He sent
Just wondering how the party's goin
Oh, fine. Sorry you're sick. Missin you! Feelin better?
Yes! Thx!
Np, you need any takeout?
Ha, no hon, I'm good. We have food here.
He sent the okay emoji, awkwardly looking at Ryan,
Enjoy your party!
Sarah sent.
He sent the thumbs up and the heart. It wasn't backstabbing, he did love her. But he loved someone else too...
" Sorry, again. " He reminded Ryan, who smiled kindly at him.
What are you doing, man?!
He thought to himself. He had completely forgot what he was saying before he blacked out. To make it less awkward ( which failed, by the way ) , he asked Ryan:
" So... where were we? "
" Oh, hah, doesn't matter. Sorry for bumpin into you and causin all this. "
Maybe Brendon not remembering what he had said about loving him was a good thing. He totally had a wife!
Ryan thought.
