Courtney's POV

I start walking home after practice so I can get my math homework done. As I'm walking, I feel someone pick me up and throw me over their shoulder before taking off at a unnatural speed.

"COLBY PUT ME DOWN!!" I screech in surprise.

"Now why would I want to do that?" Colby chuckles as he runs faster towards the forest.

I shake my head then change into a blue jay. I laugh in my head as I watch him look around confused for a minute before spotting me up in the treetops. He looks from me to my pile of clothes before grabbing them and taking off again.

You've got to be kidding me!!

I take off after him and manage to land on his shoulder. I then concentrate on him and notice he has slowed down immensely.

"What the hell is going on?" I hear echo through my head as I see him trying very hard to run faster.

"I can also minimize the amount of someone's abilities." I say to him in his head.

"Now give me my clothes."

"Why?" He replies out loud while smirking at me.

"Because I will claw your eyes out if you don't." I mentally reply.

He just laughs then drops my practice clothes onto the forest floor.

"Turn around." I say to him. He slowly turns around as I hop off of his shoulder onto my pile of clothes.

I change back and start to put my clothes on. Once I'm done I turn to face Colby to catch him looking at me. His face turns bright red as he whips his head around.

"Brock you are such a perv!!" I yell at him.

"I'm so sorry! I thought you were done!" He exclaims with his back still towards me.

"Well I'm fully dressed now you idiot." I say while rolling my eyes.

I watch as he slowly turns around.

"So what were you doing exactly?" I ask once he was facing me.

"Revenge for tripping me on the hall this morning." He says

"But I never touched you this morning." I reply sarcastically while grinning.

"Oh really?" He asks as he takes a few steps towards me.

"Yeah really." I respond while taking a few steps back until I hit a tree.

"Well I wonder what caused me to trip then..." he says smirking as he is just inches from me now.

"I guess you'll nev-" Colby suddenly leans in and presses his lips against mine, cutting me off. My skin feels electric as his hands find their way to my waist, pulling me closer, before pulling away. I let out a small whine as he steps a few inches back. He just smirks then takes off towards town, leaving me very confused.

Colby's POV

I run back to town and straight to Sam's house.

"Oh, hi Colby. Sam is upstairs in his room." Sam's mom says while looking up from doing the dishes.

"Ok thanks!" I shout as I bolt upstairs.

"SAM!!" I shout as I barge into his room.

"WHAT!!" He shouts back as he looks up from his phone.

"I did something really stupid." I say.

"And that's a shock for you?" He asks sarcastically.

"It involves Courtney..." I trail off.

Sam sits up and looks at me, "What did you do?" He asks.

"I may or may not have...um...kissed her...then turned and ran..." I say while looking at the floor.

"Colby you idiot." He says while shaking his head.

"What do I do?" I ask.

"Dude you have to talk to her. She's probably hella confused." Sam replies.

*PING*

-COLBY BROCK!!

Yes princess?

-I need to talk to you

Whatever about?😇

-Get your skinny ass back here!

I don't really feel like it

-COLBY! I have no idea where I am in these freaking woods btw...

I face palm.

"Now what did you do?" Sam asks watching me.

"Uhhh...I kinda left her lost in the woods on the edge of town..." I say slowly.

"WELL GO GET HER YOU DINK!" Sam semi-yells at me.

"Ok ok ok! I'm going!!" I say as I run back downstairs and out the door.

I'm on my way to get you

-Well you better hurry. It's getting chilly.

I take a quick detour to my house to grab somethings before heading back to the woods.

A few minutes later I run into the clearing where Courtney was when I ran off. I look around before spotting her sitting on a log making bright and beautiful flowers grow around her.

"It's about time you got here." She says without looking up from the flowers. I then notice that all of the paths that lead out of the clearing are blocked by thick tree branches.

"Did you do that?" I ask while looking around for a way out.

"Yes. I just needed to talk to you. I know exactly how to get back to town." She says standing up and looking at me.

"What's in the bag?" She asks once she notices the small backpack I have slung over my shoulders.

I slide it off my shoulders and unzip it, grabbing my black sweatshirt from the main pouch. I zip it back up and throw the sweatshirt at her and watch as she catches it and slides it over her head.

"So..." she starts.

"What?" I ask.

"I would like an explanation." She says annoyed.

I sigh and walk over the the log and sit down.

"Where do you want me to start?" I ask.

"That's entirely up to you." she responds as she comes over and sits next to me on the log, leaving a few inches between us.

"Let me ask you a question first." I state quickly.

I see a flash of worry in her eyes. "Ok. What would that be?" She asks.

"What did Sam say to you before practice started?" I ask sheepishly.

I watch in amusement as her cheeks blush red.

"Ummm...do I have to answer?" She asks.

"Was it about me?" I question. She simply nods her head.

"He asked if you liked me, didn't he..." I trail off. She once again just nods her head while looking down at her lap.

"Would you mind telling me what you told him?" I ask quietly while watching her. Her eyes flick up to my face. Suddenly I feel her lips on mine. She pulls back and looks me in the eyes.

"Does that answer the question?" She asks while smiling sheepishly.
