[at hospital]

“I’m sorry. We had tried our best to save him but He loves him more”

“Kyungsoo………….. He died?”

“Kyungsoo was being diagnosed with *septisemic shock a week ago but he refused to get the treatment.”

Kai totally flustered as he heard the shocking news. Kai can’t help but only to cry. All the crystals falling heavily from his eyes. Kyungsoo’s mother who was with him also can’t help herself but to cry as well as if that was the end of world. They slowly entered Kyungsoo’s treating room and saw a body lying on the bed with smiling carved on Kyungsoo’s face. Kai slowly went to him and touched his cold yet beautiful face and give a kiss….. for the last time… Tears starting to form again on Kai’s face, he can’t say anything as he felt like his mouth had been ripped apart. He continue watching Kyungsoo’s face as he doesn’t want to miss every single second his last moment with Kyungsoo.

“I’m going to miss you……. And I will love you even you are in another world…”

Distance…makes the heart grow colder, as cold as winter…

Kai felt pain in his heart as he flashed back all his precious memories with Kyungsoo for the past one week..

[one week before]

“Kyungsoo ah… you look……. pale… what happened?”

“I’m alright Kai, it’s just that I’m on fever and flu…You know.. winter season”

“Where did you go this morning? I called you but you didn’t answered it”

Kyungsoo left the question unanswered. He only can smiled back and went to kitchen to cook some food for their dinner. He cooked his specialty, kimchi spaghetti with all his heart in order to make Kai feel happy for the delicious dish…….for the last time….

“It’s been a long time since I ate this spaghetti… delicious Kyungsoo, very delicious..” Kai smiled.

“I only made it for you yeobo,.. special for you..” Kyungsoo grinned and give a peck to Kai on his cheek.

Even after dinner, Kyungsoo still thinking of Kai unanswered question. Kyungsoo only can smile, yet his heart hurts imagining that Kai will be alone. Kyungsoo went to hospital this morning with fever, flu and *epigastric pain without Kai knowing it.. He had been diagnosed with septicemic shock must get treatment within one week or else………. He refused, yet he wants to be with Kai all time, without wasting even a single blink of eye.

“Kyungsoo, are you okay?” Kyungsoo suddenly shocked and awake from his frightening imagination.

“I’m alright, don’t worry yeobo….. Kai, can I ask you something?” Kyungsoo’s body shivering from winter cold.

“What is it Kyungsoo?” back hugging tightly on Kyungsoo as he knew Kyungsoo is cold.

“What will you do if I died? Do you still love me?”

“Why you suddenly ask that? For sure I’ll be sad, unless we die together and yet, I will love you..forever”

Kai answered directly and kiss on Kyungsoo’s forehead. Kyungsoo immediately move his sight to other side, doesn’t want to show his glittering tears almost forming on his eyes.

“It’s your second time you asked me such a question and yet I give the same answer.” Kai laughed.

“Is it?? When?” Kyungsoo with his blur face and his ‘fake’ grinning face, laughed.

“I confessed to you in early winter and you asked me that question. Cinca??!! You really forgot about it”

He knocked Kyungsoo’s head for being forgetful. Both of them just laughed, cuddling with each other. While seeing smile carved on Kai’s face, Kyungsoo can’t help himself but tears are forming in his crescent eyes and suddenly cried. Kai’s expression changed as he saw his beloved crying heavily… not knowing Kyungsoo is going to ‘leave’ him soon….leave………

“Why are you crying Kyungsoo?” Tears start forming in Kai’s eyes as well.

“I miss the time that you confessed to me for the first time; it’s the best moment in my life. I really hope we can be forever together… I love you Kai, I love you.”

“I miss that moment too. Don’t worry Kyungsoo, I always be with you forever and ever. I’ll love you always as you love me too.”

“Forever?” Kyungsoo asked.

“Yes..forever” Kai with his confidence answered it as both of them smiled and kissed each other.

Forever.. A word that will never happened to Kyungsoo and Kai relationship. Kai still not knowing that Kyungsoo will die soon. Next two days, Kai found Kyungsoo unconscious and immediately bring him to hospital. He was in *comatose state. Kai only can keep praying for Kyungsoo’s sake. He doesn’t know that Kyungsoo is at the brink of death, struggling in order to live once more…….. but he was defeated…by death..

[at home]

Kai felt tired, crying all day, flashed back his memories with Kyungsoo.. His tears dry faster than usual due to coldness from winter. Now, Kai will never taste Kyungsoo’s kimchi spaghetti again, there will be no one wants to cook for Kai.. There will be no Kyungsoo anymore for Kai to cuddle with.. Thinking over it makes Kai can’t help himself but to cry more and more. He felt the loneliness as Kyungsoo left him. He never knew that something will happen with Kyungsoo. Seeing the falling snow outside from the window makes Kai felt the coldness from the winter season but yet, there is no one for him to hug to. Kyungsoo is gone….. Kyungsoo is gone……. Due to his tiredness, he falls asleep very fast…

“Kyungsoo?” Kai shocked as he saw Kyungsoo appeared in front of him.

“Kai, we meet again… how are you?”

“Why you leave me Kyungsoo?? Why you leave me alone? I’m scared, I miss you” Kai cried heavily.

“I don’t know Kai, I’ve never thought of leaving you soon. I miss you too” Kyungsoo cried as well.

“But you promised me to be with me for……ev….er………forever..”

Kai kept on crying more and more.. Kyungsoo who in front of him went near to Kai and wipe his tears.

“I’m sorry Kai, it’s my time to leave. We will meet again Kai. Please live well, I don’t want to see you suffer because of me. Even we are now in two different worlds, our love will be forever…. Forever Kai… I love you

Kai.” Kyungsoo smiled.

“I love you too Kyungsoo.” Kai tried to say it properly as he was crying heavily.

Kai tried to hug Kyungsoo but he can’t made it as Kyungsoo starts to vanish from his sight and disappeared just like melting snow.. He is gone… Kyungsoo is gone.. Kai suddenly awake from his deep sleep.. It’s just a dream…. Yes, it’s just a dream.. But yet, Kai believed that Kyungsoo is waiting for him and wants him to live well..

“Farewell Kyungsoo, One day, I’ll meet you….in heaven” Kai thought and started to cry again.

*Septicemic shock: A condition where the body undergoes shock due to infections to the blood circulation.

*Epigastric pain: An abdominal pain / Pain in the abdomen.

*Comatose: The person is unconscious and remains in vegetative state.
