Hello friends happy 2018. I don't know who even knows I exist in this world but I'll write this shortly because I still have an english essay to finish this is very spontaneous and in the moment but I just wanted to say this in like the 10 minutes I have here.
I'm very sorry if anyone felt discouraged by this book. This was a dumb thing that I read about in other fandoms and I wanted to do it here too because I was tired of the cliches. But the thing is. 1.) while it was meant for fun, it may have hurt a lot of people. 2.) It was taken too seriously sometimes lmao. Just because I said one thing here did not mean that having that in your book was a killer and you were not a good writer anymore. Writing and growing go hand in hand, and as you mature, you will lose those cliches naturally and go on more action driven or unique plots, but if you're just starting out, making mistakes is ok.
I'm telling you from experience, since I was the first one to write about these cursed fanfic moments in this fandom. (oh and stating facts =/ bragging) I didn't have any right to comment on it anyway, because I was not a good writer at all and I just pulled things out of my ass as well as disregarded anyone who tried to actually write something that Was a story, not an idiotic pamphlet.
And that soon followed with other people making fun of new writers, of smut writers, posting their work publicly to be made fun of and even including the username, title and everything in their wannabe books. Some of the things I said here were not funny at all, (oh and neither did others) maybe relatable to some extent but it certainly did not deserve the attention it got and it didn't certify me to look down on other people. Well I can't say I ever looked down on anyone, but I made others do it. And I was literally 14 when I first made that book so, 14 year olds have the worst opinions, don't listen to anything that's there.
First of all. Smut can be good. Smut can be hot, well written, have a plot, make you feel things. And smut writers can be some of the hardest working people on here because not everyone can make a dick stabbing a vagina be hot and entice something out of you, much less give you feelings. Making mistakes for the first time as a writers is a process of growth. And if you are worried about appearing in some 'dumb fanfic moments' book, let me tell you, most of us start these things because we either A) suck as actual writers and cannot conceive a plot for the life of us B) don't have enough talent or motivation for an actual book C) think we're hot shit when we aren't because when we try other works they flop. Literally nobody here is better than you and it doesn't matter anyway cause it's just a dumb website. Have a little confidence young grasshopper.
I'm not calling anyone out, well, mostly myself, but hey if you think the shoe fits for others too then I guess I'm calling them out as well.
Oh, and another thing. Which I guess can be classified as a callout, read something before deciding on a cliche and don't pull shit out of your ass. Nobody is called Alexis (i dont even remember who wrote that thing cause it was so long ago, but you're free to @ them, i truly dont care) and nobody makes their oc blonde because they want her to be different from other Divas Who Are blonde yada yada yada. I get that having the same Oc can be tiring, but at the end of the day, it's their fucking choice and stop looking down on women bc of their hair colour because nobody is gonna give a shit if she's blonde if she has a good personality and is an interesting character overall. If you're gonna make people feel bad abt their OC choices, at least be factual about it :D. And don't feel bad about writing Shield stories if they are your muse and you know you can make them interesting, stories with I don't fucking know, James No Chin as a main character can be just as boring no matter if he's underrated, it's all about the plot and characterizations. Respect every choice the author has and don't look down on people who write Shield stories or stories about underrated wrestlers, because you're not gonna be tired of something exciting and unique no matter if the main character is a shield guy or not.
My recommendations to read from are Ambr0se, SDAmbrose, Bloodsen, wwetheshield, dirtydeedsx, abnxrmal and psychopathish, and guess what, most of them have stories about the shield and they're still good. Hope all of these people have a great year.
And for the rest of you, happy writing, dears! Never feel discouraged about anything anyone says!
Love,
A lesbian who loves men too much for her liking and sometimes still enjoys them wrestling in tight underwear :D
