It was summer again.. And the birds were singing and bees were flying around everywhere.
A beautiful girl named Snow White, with long black wavy hair walked outside, unafraid, taking each step as if she'd die the very next day. The girl ran up a hill and found what she had been searching for, for a long time; a small clearing in the forest with vines covering parts of the ground, going up around the trees and over most of the clearing, making a roof but leaving small gaps for the sun to shine through and catch her porcelain skin. Dust and glitter like particles floated in the air, casting colors on the grass and on her face as they went by. The young girl's eyes darted around the clearing, realizing that she was undecided.
She felt so free in that moment then she started running, going anywhere she pleased and anywhere she thought dangerous, because she thought there were little chances of getting lost or hurt. The girl believed she was dreaming, because she had never felt so alive; being able to do anything she wanted was just so breathtaking. So exciting. So... New.
Her vision was blurry around the edges, creating an odd color and making her see everything in different shades of yellow and a faded red.
Her breath was almost visible as the wind blew cold air and the sun beat down on her, causing her skin to heat up then light flames, the heat from the fire dancing in her eyes.
The fire becoming unbearable, Snow White's eyes searched around for water, but there was nothing. She looked at her arms to see how much more time she had before the flames consumed her but there, across her fragile skin was nothing but little drops of water.. And then she realized it was starting to rain. The girl looked up at the sky, the clouds rolled and moaned as they went, and lightening cracked, sending chills up and down her spine. All around her was dark... The only few seconds she was able to see, was the time the lightening struck.
The darkness was consuming Snow White, and once she stumbled across what used to be, the beautiful forest; so alive and welcoming, was now a dark, dangerous place; strange sounds filled the forest, things scattering and brushing up against her back but every time she turned, the 'monster' she thought she'd find, vanished.
A near by wolf howled into the night, causing her to twist around and trip over a root the had gotten dug up. She laid on the ground, face turned down toward the earth, holding her breath and staying as still as she could, knowing that she was in trouble. Her eyes flickered up to see two huge paws just a foot away from where she lay.
The girl started to panic, her heart beating loud in her ears, causing a rhythmic thud to sound in the depressing silence.
The animal slowly lowered it's head and growled viciously, causing her to jump back and lean back on her knees, her thin frame beginning to shake.
The wolf in front of her had smokey gray eyes-like her own-that seemed to glow in the moonlight that now casted over the girl and the animal. The wolf had thick black and tan coloured furr, it's body almost massive compared to the young girl's.
She prayed for some kind of miracle as her gaze fixed on the large wolf. The animal seemed to calm down under watchful eyes, it's ears folding back and it's body lowering to the floor until the large wolf was laying.
Snow White collected her thoughts and felt braver as she put out her hand to touch the wolf's nose. The wolf whined and then turned to go lay down a bit further away from her. Leaving Snow White feeling alone for the rest of the night.

Short StoryThis One-shot was based off a dream I had years ago, and the songs "Spectrum" and "Blinding" by Florence + the Machine helped me along in the writing process. I wrote this a long time ago but didn't exactly know what to do with it until now. I hope...
