FOURTEEN

When I open my eyes I see that I am in the hospital. Everything was true. I start to cry again. Chris is in there with me. "Hey, it's okay," he says. 

"No it's not," I whisper. "I promised you I would protect her." 

"You almost died doing so," he says. 

I look and see that I have lost a lot of blood. "Look the police are here to question you what happened. We said that is was a car jump. Everyone was there but me alright. I think you know how to do this," he says. 

I look at him. This is what I just joined. This is what I have to do. A deputy comes into my room. I look at them and see that they are going to question me. 

"Are you sure you didn't recognize any of the men?" he asks. 

"I got stabbed and my friend got stabbed. I was more focused on other things. I'm not even sure what I saw," I answer. "That's all I have to say you can go now." 

"I'm sorry for your loss," he says. Me too. I start crying and I look around. Argent left so it's just me. 

I scream into my pillow a couple of times. Then I stand up but Melissa walks in on me. "Sit back down," she says. 

I look at them and I realize it. "Where's my dagger?" I ask. Melissa hands me it from the bag. It's the silver. Allison used the first arrowhead. I look at Melissa. "I have to go." 

I stand up but it hurts. "Alex you're going to hurt yourself," she says. 

"I deserve it but I have to go tell the others. I grab the bag and change into the different clothes. I go into the elevator. I call Derek. "Derek I need you to come pick me up from the hospital," I say. 

I see him pull up to the car. I shake my head and smile. "You knew I would do this," I say. 

I open the door and get inside. "Of course I did," he says. "We have to go get something from Peter," he says. 

I roll my eyes. "How are you doing?" he asks. 

"I feel like I can't breathe. It hurts so much. I can't believe she's gone," I answer. When he drives to wherever Peter is I look out that window the whole time. I look at Derek every now and then. 

When he gets back with a box I look at it. We didn't have to talk. I didn't want to. When we get to the school we meet up with Ethan and Aiden. I look at them. "You can't die either," I tell them. "I will have Lydia bring you back then I will beat the crap out of you." 

I go with Derek. When Void is right there I look at him. "Did you bring us a present?" Void asks. 

Derek puts the case down. "I brought two," he says. Ethan and Aiden show up too. 

"I've heard of an Alpha pack, Derek, but not a pack of former Alphas. It's a little sad, isn't it?" Void says.

"I might not be an Alpha anymore," Derek shifts, "but I can still fight like one."

Being a werewolf seems life a lifetime ago. Void looks at me. "You're still alive?" he asks. 

"I'm not as easy to kill than you think," I say. 

Then the Oni start coming towards us. I start to duck and dodge them. I try to get them into their chest. It's harder because I am sort of bleeding out. "Derek," I say. I slide the dagger. He doesn't have time to grab it. 

I kick them back and try to throw this Oni off balance. It's actually quite hard because their reflexes are faster. No pain. This is for what they did to Allison. I punch it in the face. "I'm here for revenge," I say. I reach inside of them and pull out their firefly.
