Elizabeth Moore woke up with a confused look on her face as to how she ended up on the floor once again. She came up with a realistic conclusion that during the deep sleep she finally got, due to countless thoughts, she never noticed how hard it might of hurt from falling from the height of her tall bed. She finally got up as slow as she could, and stretched her left side that ached the most from the fall. "Lizz!! Can you please come over here!??" Elizabeth darted her head to the door with hooded eyes, what could her annoying sister possibly want? And why did she have to scream, doesn't she know they have neighbors. Elizabeth made strides quietly down the hallway and into her sisters room, "why are you such a pest Sophie, we live in an apartment, not in a cabin in the middle of nowh-" she was taken back with wide eyes at the unprecedented figure. Her sister with low sobs and red eyes looked up slowly, holding her mother who had just collapsed. With slow breaths, their mother started to choke and all in one moment Elizabeth stood frozen in shock. "He-ey! C-call an ambulance!!! Please, anything!!J-just.." Sophie's damp face contorted angrily as she tried to snap her sister out of a daze. Elizabeth immediately ran toward the living room, where the phone line was connected, and dialed the number. The low hum of the phone ringing left her with anxiety, and all while tears fell from her face as she whimpered desperately. "911 what's your emergency?" Said the operator. With relief she sighed, " Y-yes my mother.. she just collapsed and is having trouble breathing.. I live on Tonso st. 2712 apt 302..how long will you be?" She only wanted to be reassured by someone, "I can guarantee we will be there in about 18 minutes," Elizabeth shut her eyes hitting her forehead against the top of the phone,"please hurry my mother.." "i cant promise anything but we will be there as soon as possible," The operator spoke calmly. Elizabeth nodded her head slowly and hung up. When she got back, her sister was holding her mother tightly and not making a noise. "Soph?" Elizabeth spoke softly, but she was shaking now. Sophie mumbled something under her breath. Elizabeth walked slowly in front of both of them with caution,"what?" Sophie lifted her head exposing a now deceased mother, "W-E'RE T-TOO LATEEE!!"Sophie sobbed hard now. Elizabeth's face turned a pale color, and everything became a blur. The sudden shouts her sister made only echoed in her mind, and her vision was dark now.
If she only had known what was going on with her mother, this would have been prevented. She had no idea that her mother was already dying and why no one knew. Her mother had always been there for them. Diana always loved her children and would do anything for them. She just could never tell them about her sudden sickness that tormented the last bit of womanly pride she had left. No, she never wanted to tell them, and now she was gone. The hardest part of realizing life is difficult, is going through something difficult, and as difficult as that was, recovery from a storm always cleaned up best.
