The party started at nine o'clock sharp and Elizabeth's nervous anticipation was bubbling out of her as she shook her knee, constantly watching the minutes pass by on her sisters antique clock. 'Almost time' she thought to herself. The party would have guests arriving before the actual start time so they have time to listen to the welcoming toast from Joseph Vin'Del, their father. Followed by classical music (to either dance to or gossip), a fabulous gourmet dish, more dancing and a final speech from Mr. Vin'Del including a slideshow of the the progress over the years. Of course the information was provided by the sly and cunning Sophie Vin'Del for Elizabeth who is unknown in the art of eloquent parties.
Sophie applies one more layer of red lipstick, smacking her lips twice before she stands up tall, "My dearest sister the party awaits us." Elizabeth smiled nervously while Sophie turns to reveal the wicked grin she had spread on her face. Sophie walked out first with Elizabeth right behind her. Elizabeth, who now had on her mask, had her face to the ground as she counted each step of the flight of stairs they descended from, in order to keep her mind off the room full of high standard people. It was bad enough that she hadn't talked to anyone besides Sophie in over four months, now she had to worry about the correct response these people would like to hear during a conversation. Elizabeth took her last step and gulped hard, lifting her head toward the crowd. There were many older men and woman with masks on, as well as their kids, who looked around Sophie and Elizabeth's age. Elizabeth followed Sophie until she came across a dessert table toward the end of the ballroom and separated from Sophie like she was drawn to it, almost like a moth to a light. She was so unbelievably hungry, during those four months, she had actually lost weight. IV shots weren't going to make me look well nourished and feel full, she thought and started on the left side of the small table enjoying the brownie fudge cake. While Elizabeth was eating, Sophie was in the mood for some fun. She wanted to introduce Elizabeth to her friend Rosy, another teenager who lived in the estate. Rosy was sitting in a love seat by the large family portrait Mr. Vin'Del had put up, and smiled when she saw Sophie, "Hi stranger what you up to this time?" Rosy questioned a bit intrigued, "Why do you suppose I'm up to something," Sophie scoffed jokingly. Rosy rolled her eyes, "Whenever you where red lipstick hell breaks loose." They both giggled, "Anyway this is my sister.." Sophie turned to find that Elizabeth wasn't anywhere around. 'What!?' Sophie thought and turned back to Rosy who looked confused as ever, "Sophie? What are you talking about isn't your sister in a coma?" Sophie ran toward the entrance to see if she could find her in the front of the Mansion, "I'll be back.."
Meanwhile, Elizabeth was on her fifth dessert. "Yumm,"she hummed a small tune while savoring the taste of the strawberry cheesecake flambé. Someone stood at the right side of her, but she didn't seem to bother caring what the person might think, she rather sustain her cravings than deal with petty people. "So you like cheesecake?" A low voice said, "Huh?" Elizabeth turned her face towards the boy and became embarrassed of how stuffed her cheeks were. She swallowed quick and caught her breath, "Um, I mean yeah I guess it's okay?" He chuckled, "You're practically fawning over that cheese cake," she glared at him, "but don't worry I like it too" he said reaching for a plate. At this moment Elizabeth glanced over at him without facing him. She noticed how his jawline shined in the glimmery soft light of the ballroom. His hair was a light brown color, and although he was wearing a mask, she saw his eyes were a glossy green. Her eyes widened, it was the same person she met outside in her hospital gown. No doubt he saw her run crazily in the maze with little to no decency of being half naked. Her face was flushed and she slammed her cake down on the table, "Err excuse me haha," she laughed nervously and started to pace toward the more crowded area in the ballroom, "Hey!" He shouted, Elizabeth looked over her shoulder, "My name's Sebastian, what's yours?" He seemed desperate and as soon as she heard his name, he seemed less familiar. His name wasn't Sebastian, the boy who was outside was someone else, she just couldn't remember well. "Oh I'm..." Elizabeth contemplated whether to blow her cover or not, and didn't want any trouble with the nurse or her father, "-Liza..Yes Liza, nice to meet you Sebastian," she smiled lightly and waved him goodbye until she disappeared into the crowd. Stunned, Sebastian felt s grin plaster on his face, the most clumsiest and prettiest woman he's ever seen, he laughed at the thought of her stuffing her face with desserts, 'I wonder what family is she from' he thought.
From the crowd Elizabeth seemed to have lost her sister, no she's wrong, she is lost herself. Although the party is calm and neutral, the masks weren't helping the search for Sophie, but before she could look any farther the sound of a microphone being tested brought everybody's attention to the stage. There, her father stood waiting for a couple of men to readjust the stand for the microphone, and she felt confusion and hurt surge through her. After all this time, there he was, ordering people around and forgetting that he has a responsibility for his children as well as the laminated invitation to Hell. A man in his thirties started to speak, "And now folks Mr. Vin'Del!" a loud applause politely responds and Elizabeth's father walks up toward the stand and opened his mouth.-------------------///////Kaitlyn G.//////
I hope it's alright I really liked this idea of drama whether it's romance or just rumors or even family drama, it's all really good especially when your keeping secrets. It's pushes the story along.
