*Jodies POV*

As I walk down the empty back roads of NYC, I step slightly out of my way to hear the sound of a crunchy looking leaf. I take in a deep breath of crisp, cool air to replenish my burning lungs.

I walk. I walk for miles upon end. my thighs and calves burned with exhaustion, and ached with every agonizing step.

I was nearly home now, only a few streets away. Just a little further and I would see my quaint old cabin, it's vibrant lights peeking through the naked trees. As the wind picked up, some of my long wispy brown locks flew into my tan, angular face. It smelled of strawberries and cool air. My mom used to tell me I looked like a model. Then she would poke my dimple and tell me I should dream big and shoot for my goals. And I did just that, hoping not to disappoint my now deceased mother.

I looked up at the faint stars, most covered by the unforgiving clouds. Thinking back to the earlier hours of the day, I got excited to get home and go through all of the pictures I'd taken today. I had gotten a few good shots last I had checked, but decided to stop looking and surprise myself later.

I continued to walk for a few minutes until I heard the engine of a car. Soon it had gotten so close I could no longer hear the clicking of my heels on the pavement. When I turned my head to see the car, I was blinded by the fluorescent head lights of a fancy sports car.

As the car came close to me it started to slow, making me wonder if I was going to continue living or not. Next to me he came to a complete stop and rolled down his overly tinted, illegal window.

And boy was the man In front of me absolutely angelic. He began to talk to me, and as cliche as it sounds- I heard not a word of which he was saying. He spoke with what seemed like worry, Adam's apple bobbing with each word. His rich, chocolate eyes scolding me as I continued to not listen, but stare.

His face was angular like mine, making him look attractive. But my ogling and observations were cut short by him snapping his fingers in my face, and the feeling of cool rain drops on my skin

"What?" I asked oblivious to a word he had said

" My name is Brice. I saw you walking and it looked like it was going to rain- which it is. So I figured I'd ask if You wanted a ride. I promise I won't molest you or anything." he said. How charming.

Just then after that sentence, it began to pour, instantly making my clothes heavy with water. There was no doubt that my makeup was slowly sliding off my face, probably making me look like a raccoon.

"Umm... I'm not so sure." I said hesitant. Should I?

"C'mon just get in, I'll give you a lift home. I don't want you contracting pneumonia and dying. just get in" he explained with a roll of his gorgeous eyes.

And in that moment, I gave in, unsure of what I was setting myself up for.

"Okay. Okay fine, but just this ride, nothing more." I said with a sigh.

Well this should be interesting...
