Chapter 3

Chases POV

We walked into the crazy club and the guys instantly went to go find a girl to dance with and hook up with later.

I wasnt in the mood. of course that had a lot to do with Maggie but i couldn't think about her right now.

So instead i grabbed a nearby beer and started drinking.

It had been about 2 hours when i suddenly smelt the most amazing scent in the world and instantly recognized it.

Maggie.

I grabbed jake and made him follow me to where his little sister was in a light dress grinding on some other guy.

I felt my wolf instantly surface and i growled.

"MAGGIE!" jake and i both yelled to her.

Her head shot up to us and she grinned a little before wobbling her way over to us.

Oh hey you guys, how are ya?" She slurred.

"Why are you here wearing that and drunk?" jake asked.

"I do this like all the time god lighten up at least i wasnt going home with anyone like i usually do." She said casually looking back at the guy she had previously been grinding on.

"What??..." jake whispered angrily i could see his wolf was trying to take over.

She put he hands on his chest and whispered its all okay in his ear and told him she wasnt going home with anyone and he began to calm down just a little bit.

I was a complete other story.

"What the hell do you mean like you usually do?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"I mean i party a lot and have sex a lot and get drunk a lot and have pregnancy scares... alot! why do you think i was sent here!" She said angrily

She then looked at me for a minute before walking over and placing her small fragile hands on my chest before looking into my eyes.

I looked into hers and my wolf instantly howled.

*her wolf!!* he shouted at me.

Regret flashed through her eyes as she backed away from me then turned and ran off.

I turned toward jake.

"YOU SAID SHE WAS HUMAN!" I said angrily! he had lied to me!

"She is!" he insisted.

"Then why did i just see her wolf?" i asked stubbornly.

"Oh shit this must be another secret mom kept from me. Like why shes here." he whispered looking down shaking his head." i need to talk to her."

And with that he left me standing alone.

Maggie's POV.

I ran out of the club and out on the street.

I breathed in the cold night air and felt tears spring to my eyes.

My dad was the only one who knew about me being a wolf and when he died i lost everything.

I felt jake come up behind me and place a hand in my shoulder.

"Why are you crying?" he asked quietly.

"Dads dead" i said simply

"What?"

"Dad died. 6 months ago.its why i didnt talk when i first got here. I hadn't talked to anyone since his death until I got here. I was trying to me a new start. i should have told you. mom made me promise. and i was in a.... bad place at the time."i was sobbing and collapsed to the ground.

I looked up for a second and saw my brother towering over me... just like HE had done before he beat me.

I cringed back and shook myself back and forth.

"Im sorry. i know i wont do it again. please dont hit me again! please, please dont...." i heard myself whispering.

I felt a strong pair if arms go around me and tingles shoot through me that caused the tension i was feeling release.

"I got you i wont let anyone hurt you. not now not ever." chase whispered.

Then everything went black.
