The Festival

Hello, my name is Lily but you can call me Lulu thats what my friends like to call me. Currently I'm living in Shanghai with my host family. The host family that I'm living with happens to be my best friend Xiao Shing's family. We have gotten closer after these two months it feels like she's my older sister. Me and Xiao Shing attend the same University but different classes she's taking Arts while I'm taking music. I've been living in Shanghai for about 2 months already and I've experienced some ups and downs but the more that I get use to the community the more better I get. It's different living away from my family but living with Xiao Shing's family makes me feel at home. 

Even though I've only been is Shanghai for 2 months it feels like I've been here for 2 years with all of these amazing people that I've meet along my journey. No matter what I won't back down!

"Lily are you ready yet?" said Xiao Shing yelling from down stairs "Yeah be right their" I said yelling. I quickly grab my school stuff and rush out of my room. Me and Xiao Shing gotta get to school early today since our University is currently getting ready for their 5th annual sports festival today. They have this event every summer lots of students, family and friends come out and watch all of the amazing events that the university has in store for them and this year it's going to be my first ever experience. I have to admit I'm super excited but I'm also nervous about this it's going to be my first ever festival her in Shanghai. "You got everything?" said Xiao Shing smiling "Yep totally ready" I said smiling back at Xiao Shing "You two girls be careful and have a fun day" said Xiao Shing's mother "We will. Have a nice day too" I said "Let's go" said Xiao Shing leaving the house "ok" I said following Xiao Shing out the door. "You excited about today?" said Xiao Shing "Oh yeah I am. I'm really looking forward to this" I said "What's your class thinking of doing for the festival?" I said "Were thinking of doing a fun snack stand as well as games. What about your class?" said Xiao Shing "Well, Half of the class is doing a fun theater show, Some other kids are going to do a fun performances" I said "Your going to do a performance right!" said Xiao Shing "Yeah I am" I said "Are you doing it alone?" said Xiao Shing "Yeah" I said . I'd be nice to do a performance with people but everyone is already doing something with a group so I decided to do a performance just myself. "I'm surprised that Jason didn't ask you after all a lot of us think that you two make the perfect couple" said Xiao Shing "Why is that?'' I said confused "1. Your both in the same department. 2. Both dance. 3. Smart. 4. Both of you are friends and we always see Jason playing around with you. 5. Similar hobbies" said Xiao Shing "Yeah so" I said "SO! Were all surprised that he hasn't asked you to be his partner for this years dance off" said Xiao Shing. After walking for a while we arrived in front of the University "Even though he's Mr.Popular your "Ms.Popular" said Xiao Shing "Where did that come from?" I said "That's what I've been hearing from students" said Xiao Shing "Interesting but weird don't you think?" I said  "Morning ladies" said Jason up to us "Morning" we both said "How have you two lovely ladies been" said Jason "Good" said Xiao Shing "Thats good" said Jason "Hey Jason" said Xiao Shing "What is it?'' said Jason looking at Xiao Shing "So I'm really surprised by this" said Xiao Shing "Surprised by what?" said Jason confused "That you never asked Lily to be your partner for the dance off" said Xiao Shing "And why are you surprised by that?" said Jason "BECAUSE! Both of you are like the two most talented dancers at this school!" said Xiao Shing "First time hearing about that but I didn't know Lily danced?" said Jason "She does" said Xiao Shing "Oh cool! I guess I'll get to see how good you are at the talent show later" said Jason smirking "I guess so" I said "I'll see you both later" said Jason before walking into the building  "What was that all about!" I said "Nothing! Trust me it'll help later on" said Xiao Shing I swear Xiao Shing can get a little bit out of hand sometimes "It must be nice having Jason in your department" said Xiao Shing "A little. But mainly he's always the center of attention" I said "I'm surprised that you don't like him every girl in the university loves him that's why they gave him the nickname of Mr.Popular" said Xiao Shing "I'm just not really interested in that" I said "Whatever you say. Oh Yui!' said Xiao Shing "Xiao Shing!" said Yui waving "I'll see you later" said Xiao Shing running over to Yui. And then their was one. "Lily!" said a familiar voice. Well that didn't last very long. I turn around and see one of my friends named Daniel "Hey Daniel" I said "You ready for today?" said Daniel "A little bit" I said "I have a favor to ask?" said Daniel "What is it?'' I said "My partner got injured so I have no one to dance with for my performance and your the only one who knows the whole choreography inside and out. so I was wondering if you could be her replacement please!" said Daniel begging "Sure I can do it" I said "Ok. Let's go get you something to wear right now" said Daniel taking my arm and dragging me to the costume room.

Few minutes later at the Costume Room...

"Out of the way! Move! Move! Move!" said Daniel pushing threw the students "Daniel shouldn't you be getting ready for your performance?" said Jason "Yeah but Daehee got injured and can't do it so I'm having Lily be her replacement" said Daniel "Lily is her replacement" said Jason laughing. "Lily is going to be Daehee's replacement! You know she does dance right!" said Jason "Just you wait. I know for sure that I can prove you wrong" said Daniel. What happened to the old Jason from a few minutes ago he wasn't like this before. "Theirs no way a tiny little pip squeak can replace the only and only Daehee" said Jason. Their something really wrong why isn't that one minute Jason is all nice and sweet while the other minute he's all crazy and acts like he owns the place!. Jason leaves the room along with the class mates. "Lily come one we gotta get you into the costume we only have 10 minutes left" said Soohi handing me the outfit and pushing me into the changing room.

Why do I have a feeling this is just going to get even worse.
