School hasn't always been hard for Kevin. He sits in class wandering if there's something else waiting for him out there. Smoking weed and Tabaco is fun, but he wanders, is there anything better? Can he find something better to do?
The same thing happens everyday, is life always gonna be this boring? Wake up in the morning, get ready for school. Once in school, eats brakefast then go to first period listening to boring lectures from teachers. Lunch comes and its still boring. People greeting each other as though they haven't seen each other for yesrs, people talking bad about each other and their friends behind their back. Couples kissing and hugging as though they have been married. Frankly Kevin doesn't care for all of that.
All he cares about is getting out of this kind of life. Romance don't appeal to him like it does with boys his age. It used to but now after his experience with lemon, he doesn't care for that anymore.
As he heads of to his fifth period class a familiar voice calls out to him. He turns to see a neightboor. He's now in Freshman year. His only a year younger than Kevin but they've known each other for a couple years because of his older brother. "Hey Kevin!" Jason says. That's the name of the kid.
"What's up Jason?" Kevin replies with a lifeless voice. Jason moves closer to Kevin as though he's got something very important to tell him. "What is it?" Kevin asks with the same lifeless voice he's always had,
"My briter Joey is back." Jason says with a twinkle of happiness in his eyes.
"Cool didn't he go to Job Corps?"
"Yeah but I heard he went AWOL so Job Corps kicked him out and sent him back home."
"Oh well hey we're gonna be late so head to your class so you don't get in trouble." Jason noods and heads to class.
Later on after school had ended, Kevin heads home. He knows what's waiting for him, a Mom eager to get rid of him. Little did he know that that night was the last night he'd spend at his house. He walks home every time. As he approached his house, he sees an a familiar car. A Mercedes it could be his Moms friend or something of the sort.
As he goes in the house he sees a tall man in a fancy looking suit. He hears his Mom walking up to the kitchen. "Hey Kevin," she says with a big warm smile on her face. Emedietky, he knew something was wrong.
"Mom who is he?" Kevin asks in a lifeless voice. His mother answered "he's your new dad so be respectful okay?"
"Dad?" Kevin repeats
"Yes Dad and don't repeat what I say" his Mom says in an angry tone in her voice. Kevin was in shock. Him and his Mom had never got along. So he shouldn't be surprised.
He walks away and heads to his room to process all of this. Him and his Mom never got along and he was raised by Grand parents so he's only lived with her for three years, but still. As a child he was abandoned by his Mom to live with his Grand parents. They were like his mother and father until they died July 15th three years ago. Kevin never had a father eithr so he doesn't know how it feels to have one he remembers bits and pieces about him but he died when he was only 5 years old on Febuary. He was a military man. After his death Kevin moved to his Grand patents.
Kevin thinks back to how his Mom is. It turned out this way but how. They always argued and his Mom has always tried to decorate every aspect of his life. Finally now Kevin faces another challenge. Or at least he thinks so. Kevin hears a knock on his door. He goes to open it and he sees his Mom holding a folder full of papers. Before Kevin could ask his Mom explains it all to him. "This is an emancipation paper. Its been approved and all you need to do is sign it." She grabbed his wallet and seconds after he sees the man his Mom introduced to him with a suitcase and a big bag. "Sign this papers and pack your things," his Mom says "I want you gone by tonight." Before Kevin could react, his Mom left the room and seconds later all he hears is the laughter of his Mom and the man.
Kevin packs his things as he was told. Thdn sign the paper and goes downstairs. "Where an I supposed to go?" He asks
"Wherever you want now out!" His Mom replies.
Kevin leaves the house. He remembers his friends. He quiets school and tries to find a job. It was always the same. The parents of his friends seem nice but in the end kicks him out for one of two reasons. One, they can't keep feeding him. Two they can't let a stranger live with them for too long. So Kevin moves from house to house place to place. Sometimes the weather on winter is too cold but he has no choice but to live under a bridge. Go hungry for days until a kind soul gives him food.

A year and a half of this suffering have past. Then a miracle happens. He meets Joey on his way to the store to buy himself food. They Emedietky recognise each other. They talk and Kevin lets him in on a little bit of his situation but never of how this happened. Joey recognizing his boundaries didn't pry into more details. Instead he offers to let Kevin stay in his house and have him the option to go to Job Corps. After Joey explained what Job Corps is, Kevin agrees to go if this will help him to get out of the streets.
They call the recruiter for Job Corps and let Kevin register. He waits and the Job Corps had call him back. A lady named Tammy explains to Kevin the rules of the center and asks Kevin if he's committed to staying in the program. He reluctantly says yes. Now all the Job Corps is doing is sending him to a facility in South Weber Utah.
Kevin waits for weeks until they have called him and told him when his leaving for Weber Basin. So Joey and Kevin waits for two weeks. Then time finally arrived, Kevin is about to leave and start out a new life. He walks into the airport nervous but also excited. He walks in hoping it's not gonna be as boring as when he went to school. He looks around at every people passing by him. "Here goes," Kevin whispers as he walks into the airport.
