For as long as I can remember I've been alone. Living off the wills of my parents. I remember them dying when I was young but it was faded. Just the memory of the pack and their blood. Nothing more and nothing less. Although i was about 6 years old. That much I do remember. Im sure there is more out there about how it happened. I just wish I could find out. But i'm not sure how to anymore. It's become difficult trying to figure out what's real and what's not. But as I become closer with the pack the truth spills out. And belonging to them might be worth it...

As the moon rises upon the water, I'm awake. The sound of the crickets and the owls fill my ears and I force myself to get up out of the comfort of my bed. I look around in the darkness and see nothing. But something tells me they are nearby. I pull on clothes and grab my fathers 9 millimeter pistol and push it into my waistband. I silently look for my boots and I slip them on. Opening the door and trudging outside. I hear the sound of cracking sticks and the crunching of leaves. Finally a howl rings through my ears. And he stands before me. A 6 foot proud and tall creature. Fur black as night. Eyes green as emeralds. He is 5 times the size of me. And all he can do is stare down at me. I look over at his sister who trots over. A foot shorter than he is. Shes covered in a beautiful silver white coat. And her eyes are a piercing glacier blue. And she takes her spot right next to him but a foot back out of alpha respect even though they are siblings. He sits firm in front of me, and it slowly puts me at ease.

"Daughter of Joseph and Paulette, we meet again." His voice is deep but yet some how i find it comforting. I swallow the lump that has formed in my throat and clear my voice.

"Just so happens that way I guess." I mumble.

"What did I tell you about mumbling!" He growls in my face.

"Not to do it. Talk proud and clear like you mean it. That's the mistake my parents made." I raise my head up more and stare straight into his eyes. He chuckles a tiny bit and he's at my height. A few inches taller. He pushes his black shaggy hair out of his eyes and stares at me intently with a smile on his lips.

"Seems like someone is finally learning what has happened. And why is that..." He says circling around me.

"Because I'm finally accepting the truth." I lie.

"Exactly. Do you know what this means?" He grabs my shoulders and brings his mouth to my ear.

"Hunter. How about you tell miss Ivy here what it means." He lets me go and approaches his sister. I watch as she goes from proud to degraded. She shakes her head around for a minute and then stops. Flipping out her hair. It's silver glow is blinding but i meet her gaze perfectly. She basically skips towards me. Showing off her playfulness and youth. But it quickly escalates. She's up in my face and her eyes are a red.

"Don't underestimate me. I'm a bomb ready to explode. I manipulate and crush. So I would watch it kid." She snarls every word. I raise my hand without looking away from her and I wipe the spit she just protruded from her mouth away and I smile.

"First off you have no idea who you're fucking with. Second I'm not a kid. I'm older than you are." I say and pull the 9 out. I point it at her head then his. They both laugh and raise their hands. I look back and forth. Being as calm as possible.

"You won't shoot us. We know you better than that Ivy." He inches himself closer. I pull the hammer back and he stops.

"Try me Dante." I swallow hard. He smiles and grabs the barrel and holds it to his head. Laughing a tiny bit.

"Shoot me then." He says. I'm still.

"Shoot hi-" Hunter screams but the gun is too loud. She feels her right shoulder and she shakes. She falls to the ground and Dante rushes to her aid looking back at me as he picks up his dying sister.

"You're better than your parents. You act on command. You could be of use." He smiles once more.

"I'm not doing shit for you." I say pointing it at him. He sets Hunter down and walks towards me. I pull the hammer back once more and he puts his hands up.

"How much do you want to bet on that?" He asks.

"I'll bet my fucking life." I spit at him. He chuckles.

"Really? Are you sure you want to do that? I mean you have already seen what we do. What we are about. What we desire." He stands in front of me with his hands on my sides.

"Believe me Ivy, I would've killed you already if you didn't mean something to me. Demons are pathetic anyways. Do you want to live that life forever? Be hunted all the time by somebody who tried to help you? Make your choice." He leans in close. His face is inches from mine.

"What exactly do I mean to you Dante?" I push him away.

"Don't avoid what I just told you." He says grabbing my wrist.

"Dante..." Hunter cries almost in a whisper.

"Not now Hunter." He growls. I look over his shoulder and she points to the tree line.

"Dante plea-." She begins but he cuts her off.

"What did I just tell you? Huh? I'm busy." He turns around and there it stands. A beautiful nightmare. I back up slowly as it gets closer.

"Ivy, come here." Dante says. I run the other way towards the house and I lock the door. I hear banging on the other side and i slump to the floor. The 9 shakes in my hand and I pull the clip out and I rush to the drawer to refill it.

"Ivy let us in. Let us in now!" Dante yells.

"No it's payback for my parents." I say on the edge of tears. I hold the gun level to the door. Waiting for something to happen. Dante breaks through the door as his wolf with Hunter on his back. Then he's normal, sweeping me up and ducking for cover. A loud bang goes off and i jump. Dante holds us under him for as long as possible till i think it might finally be over...

I push pieces of wood and Sheetrock off of me and light is everywhere. I get up looking for Dante. He lays passed out on the floor. I get up and kick him in the stomach he grunts and rolls to his side.

"How dare you bring that here? How dare you!" I kick him again. I Hear Hunter groan and i pick her up. Shaking the glass and dust off of her. I Sit her in what's left of the rocking chair and i head back for Dante.

"What was that..." She says weak.

"I'm not sure but I'm sure your brother here knows." I say. He gets up slowly.

"I don't." He says. I scoff.

"Yeah right. Then how did it find you? It whispered your name. I mean look at my house!" I break.

He stands up and sets a hand on my shoulder.

"It did know you. It knows who you are." Hunter breaks in. He looks over at her. No I don't know what that was or how it knew my name, but it also knew Ivy name.
