*Kai's POV*

"I'm sorry but you must have the wrong person" I muttered out oddly feeling a sense of sadness.

Why the sadness, you ask? Well it is an easy answer.

I simply had no family anymore. My mother had died when I was extremely young and therefore I had no memories or pictures of what or who she was.

My father was an obsessed Vampire murderer (Now that I've transitioned this topic has become quite sensitive..) and let's not forget a blatant homophobe.

Then there was my sweet and younger sister Nora. She was all I had left but I would never see her again, I wouldn't allow it.

Which left me with nothing. An adult orphan.

So it felt nice for a moment to think I had a family or at least some left but that was impossible.

Never mind the slim possibility of my mother having siblings but this woman was a vampire!

No way in hell would my mother of married my father if her sister was a creature of the night.

It was too surreal.

"Ah yes, I can see why it would confuse you dear. But my very blood runs through your veins just as your mother's does." The woman replied to me in a serious tone.

"All shall be explained to you but first, how has your transition came along? The equivalent of a blood bath I'd presume."

At this point it was becoming a bit too much and didn't this woman have some sort of compassion?

No way could I be related to her.. she was too fierce, let alone a vampire.

Zeke must of felt my growing uneasiness as he cleared his throat and took me gently by the elbow.

"Don't you think this is a bit of an information over load for him to handle at the moment? You can talk to him when he has rested up and digested all this."

I sighed in relief and squeezed Zeke's hand just wanting to get out of this damn courtroom.

The woman laughed and stepped dangerously closer to Zeke with a venemous look painted on to her face.

"Lets make one thing clear pretty boy, you may have claimed my nephew but do not think you may give me orders. I know your family well but it doesn't mean I approve of this whole situation."

Claimed? What the hell was that supposed to mean. Had I traded my humani... Well Vampirism for a dog?

I was about to speak up and ask what in the world she meant just as I heard the clattering of heels on the marble floor.

The Queen, Rosaline walked gracefully over to where my "aunt" was standing with an unreadable expression on her stony face.

I gulped at how thick the tension was in the room as Rosaline took her place in front of my alleged relative.

"With all due respect Lucinda, you're in my court and you will acknowledge that whether you follow politics or not.

You also won't make threats towards my own flesh and blood as I have treated yours as family".

Lucinda snorted and spat out bitterly as she looked at the Queen in anger.

"Would you like a polished medal Rosaline? Maybe even a bouquet of flowers? My nephew should of never been involved in these affairs in the first place, I will not have a repeat of his mother".

"M-my mother?" I squeaked out in confusion.

But again I was rudely disregarded as the King descended from the throne and walked over to the scene less gracefully than his porcelain wife.
