Ch 19: hope falls

Eli POV

"And that is why we don't randomly quit out of games, Eli." Naomi slams her hands on the table, I snap out of my day dreaming and look at her, my blank expression make her eyebrows twitch.
"Yup. Same" I nod looking around the room noticing the girls standing round me.
"Am I in trouble?" Worry starts to pour over me, Mei shakes her head slightly at me, showing utter disappointment. The worry sunk away as guilt consumed the rest of my soul. "I'm sorry" I look around once again to see Franki beside me, holding a cigarette as usual. Her usual unimpressed expression showing, it's normal for her, but this is different.
"Do you ever run out of those?" I ask, pointing to the smoke between her slim fingers.
My vision turns black pretty quickly, my senses failing almost instantly.

I follow the brightness back to the door as usual, this time it wasn't as long, and for some reason I feel pretty good.

The door opens with a slight creek. Mei stood in front of Franki, they look like their having a pretty in depth conversation,
"What is up fam?!" I shout, raising my hands, Franki shoots her head around to glare at me. "My bad?" I question, my hands lowering to a defensive position. She turns back to Mei,
"Are you sure you wish for this end?" Franki asks,
"Same" I nod, walking up to the girls, noticing Mei had been crying. "Oh" I breathe. She nods a certain reply, my eyes widen,
In a flash, Mei disintegrates into frankis hand, all that's left is a floating purple and pink soul.
"No...." I whisper.

The house starts to shake vigorously, causing all the girls to crowd into the hallway, between my room and Naomi's.
Mei's door collapses, along with the rest of the room, leaving a pile of rubble. My heart following the rooms end.
"Mei" I mutter, not being able to feel my heart anymore.
"Franki!" Kali's voice makes the house shake even more, causing the rest of the room to crumble,
"No" a tear escapes my eye, I run towards the rubble, moving away any concrete and plaster board. I find some paper in the mess.

'I didn't mean for any of this.
I am sorry my dear.
Please don't hate me for this, it was all my fault. I let myself fall, too deep for anyone to help.

My sister, I'd like to thank you for all you've done, and all I ask is for you to protect Elijah, help him become stronger.

Franki, I'd like to thank you for all the strength you've given us, and the housing. I will never forget you, as long as my soul lives.

Naomi, you're a magnificent young woman, may you live longer than I and your mother.

Eli, my soul aches for you. I only wish you become a strong, powerful man. Along side my sister and her daughter, I wish you the best my boy.
My biggest regret is that I wasn't able to protect you, I wasn't able to hold my promise. I'm sorry I left you. But you will become the man you're supposed to, even without me.

I pass the paper to Kali, she rips it from my hands and reads it vigorously. She then passes it to Naomi and pats me on the back. More tears escape my eyes. They fall to the destroyed ground.

"What good am I if I can't save an angel!?" I pound my fists against the ground, more tears falling from my eyes, turning the concrete dark from the moisture.
"It is not your fault" Naomi speaks up after handing the paper to Franki. "This is what she wished for, a broken heart leads to a broken mind" Naomi walks over to me, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"Eli..." Franki starts.
"No!" I shout, standing up, pointing to Franki. "This is your fault" I clench my fists. Franki's eyes widen as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"That's right, you done this" I walk towards her. "You could've stopped this" more tears fall from my face "you could've made her happy" I stand against Franki, breathing heavily.
"You dare question my actions boy" she growls. "The stupid girl wanted this! It's all she asked for"
"You just wanted her soul" I slap Franki, causing her to fall to the ground, Becki gasps
"Please, my mother only done what she was asked" Becki steps in front of me. I shake my head and turn around,
"I hope you're pleased" I walk back towards Kali and Naomi.
"I'm so sorry Eli" Namoi speaks, reaching out to me, I push her hand away.
"This wasn't meant to happen" I pick up a piece of plaster board and sit down with it still in my hands.

"I never got to say goodbye.... not that it would be a good...... bye..." I sniffle, trying to control my feelings. "I loved you the most, I would protect you till the end my angel. Unfortunately the end was sooner that we thought."

I guess I passed out, my vision deteriorated slowly.
