A/N: So I looked this morning and realized some of the story didn't make the transfer from Word to Wattpad, so I fixed it. Hope you enjoy because it has been stuck in my head for at least two weeks and I need it out.
*12:28 AM*
"Oh no, I'm actually shaking. Okay cool." Elton said nervously into the camera.
The eerie setting of their latest video unsettling the five young adults. The foreign forest stood almost defiantly behind them, inviting those brave or dismal enough to enter, while at the same time warning people away.
To the left of Elton, Brennen was continuously shifting his weight around and looking anywhere but at the camera. Elton switched his focus for a moment when he heard Brennen say, "I'm just looking at the light."
"Cool, I don't like having my back to the forest either," Elton said in complete understanding.
"I told you bro," Brennen let out a tense laugh before continuing, "It's scary!"
Bringing the focus back to the intro they were trying to film, Elton started again, "Okay, alright guys. Umm, we're doing it. We're in Japan. We're at suicide forest. This is by far the dumbest things we've done."
"So Stupid." The four that were on camera all agreed.
"It's," Elton wrung his hands together nervously, "I think, it's 12:35," he said looking to Brennen for confirmation.
Colby had yet to take his eyes off his girlfriend behind the camera.
"12:28," Brennen corrected.
"12:28 AM right now." Jay went back to staring at the ground in despair as Elton looked to the right quickly to make sure no one else was around. "Uh we are going to stay overnight, the sun rises at 4:43." The sound of a passing car momentarily distracted the group. Every little noise they heard made them jump. Elton continued, "I know that exactly, because at 4:43 we're going to be right back here and get the fuck out of this forest. So, we're doing this for you." Colby sighed in desolation as his 'uncle' finished up the introduction to the video. "Uh let's hope we live."
"Yay," Colby said with fake enthusiasm. His voice raspy from overuse and the beginnings of a cold. "Good good," Colby said as he walked over to the girl manning the camera.
"Please hope we live," Brennen pleaded, his voice shaky with palpable fear.
Jay, looking like someone had just told him that he had to spend the night in a haunted forest filled with corpses, joked, "Our last meal was McDonald's, and I can't go out on McDonald's."
"No way," Brennan agreed.
"That was a fear made joke," Jay defended.
Elton took the camera from the girl; the only person in the group he hadn't collaborated with before. Colby noted his girlfriend's free hand and took the opportunity to take it and give a gentle, reassuring squeeze.
