The Publicity Stunt
Chapter One
"I'm sorry to say, but this is the last song of the night guys! I know you all know the words to this song..." I yelled in my microphone before I started to belt the words to my first single that made me hit first in the top 100 and also helped get my name known around the world.
Performing in front of thousands of people gave me such a wonderful rush, I couldn't explain how amazing it felt to sing in front of thousands of people. Watching everyone dance, yell, and cry because of me gave me a high that I would never come down from and that I could never explain to someone else. I was so blessed to be able to experience this and to be able to sing in front of all these people, especially at a sold out concert like tonight. Too soon though, my song came to its last chord and it was time to say goodbye to the crowd.
"I love you all so much! Thank you to everyone who helped me become who I am today, including every single one of you. You're all so beautiful and amazing and I wish I could meet every single one of you and give you all hugs and kisses. I'm sad that this is the last show of my tour, I had a wonderful time touring around the United States and I'm so excited to get back into the studio to record a new album and maybe star in a few movies along the way. I'd like to say one more thanks to my mom for always supporting, my manager Fiona Castro, to all of my dancers and back up singers, and especially to all of the lights, equipment and everyone that helps set up every single show. You guys are amazing! Hopefully I'll see you all soon and I'll be starting my tour here, in Los Angeles, the next time. Thank you and goodnight! Drive home safely and stay perfect!" I said, a big smile on my face. I waved and blew a few kisses before I ran off stage, tears of happiness in my eyes.
"Allison that was amazing!" My team yelled at me and hugged me tightly as I made it fully off stage.
"I love you guys so much! Thank you for everything you all do for me, it means so much. I'm ecstatic to see what the future brings us. Can it get better than a sold out tour and my album going platinum?!" I said happily to everyone.
"Go get dressed, Allison. You still have your 'saying goodbye to the tour' party to go to," my manager said sternly, but you could see she had a proud glow radiating off of her.
I nodded and gave her a tight hug, "Thank you so much for everything you have done to get me here, Fiona. You're the best manager I could ever ask for."
She grinned at me happily, returning the tight hug, "No problem, Ally. There's no one else I'd rather manage. Go change now, I think James picked out an outfit for you."
I walked down the hall back stage until I found my dressing room where I found James laying out some clothes for me to wear. James was my 21 year old stylist, and quite frankly, he was gay. Not only was he my stylist, but he was also one of my best friends since he's been with me since I was 15 and just signed with Fiona. He was a friend of her, and when she mentioned she found someone who she could manage, he volunteered right away as the personal stylist. He got me ready for all my shows, award shows, parties, and important events. The only things he didn't get me ready for were for modeling gigs and when I was acting. Other than that, I was basically like his own personal barbie doll.
"Oh my gosh, Ally! You were perfect out there, honestly you looked like a goddess! And not just because of my amazing make up and styling skills," James said with a smirk and wink as I walked in.
I laughed and gave James a hug, "Thank Jay, I'm blessed to be able to call you my stylist. Now what do you have for me to wear to the after party?"
"Oh girl, you're lucky I went shopping before the show, I found the perfect outfit." He said as he motioned to what he laid out on the couch.
He picked out a pair of turquoise jeans with a few rips on them, which fit my legs perfectly. On top of that was a flowy white tank top which he paired with a new pair of black Converse.
"Sweet a new pair of converse! I've been needing a new pair, anyway." I said excitedly as I started to get dressed.
"Trust me, I know. You've been nagging me to get you a new pair ever since you accidentally kicked one of your shoes into the crowd last month. Which I still have no idea is possible, since they were both double knotted..."
I grinned sheepishly as I finished tying my shoe tightly, "I have no idea either, Jay. Trust me, those shoes were my babies. Anyways, how do I look?"
I stood up and straightened my tank top. He made me do a 360° before he went over to his suit case.
"Here, these will complete the outfit." He threw a black watch, a few rings, and a necklace at me.
I quickly put them on before I walked over to the mirror and looked at myself. My dark brown hair was in loose curls, despite it being hair sprayed into tight curls for my concert. Dancing, jumping, and singing sure have a gnarly effect on your hair, but paired with my outfit, it looked perfect.
"Girl it's 10:45, you have to leave now if you want to make it. You can't be late for your own after party," James said as he packed up my dressing room.
"Oh shoot, you're right. I'll see you at the party, right?" I said as I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Of course, I just need to pack up this place and we'll be good to go. I'd never miss your first after party, darling." He said with a wink at me before he shooed me out the door.
I laughed as I walked down the hall, toward the exit. My mom and Fiona waited at the door, as they talked and laughed.
My mom saw me walking towards them first and she ran over to me excitedly, pulling me into a big hug, "Allison, you did perfect tonight. You have no idea how proud of you I am."
I hugged her back tightly, "Thank you so much for all your support and all you've done and sacrificed to get me here. I love you."
"I hate to break up this lovely mother daughter moment, but we need to leave now," Fiona said impatiently, checking her watch.
My mom and I laughed before exiting the venue and walking to the black SUV, climbing in the back.
"So, you know what you need to do, right Allison?" Fiona said as we headed toward the club we rented as she typed away at her iPhone, probably talking to some important person that'll help my career go further.
"Nope, you never told me." I replied, looking out the window.
"Well, I invited a lot of big celebrities. Talk to them, let photographers take pictures of you two, and then slowly work your way down the social ladder. I don't need to tell you the rules and not to drink because I already know you won't do anything bad. You're a good girl."
I rolled my eyes, but smiled, "Of course, Fiona. You know me too well."
My mom patted my arm, "I raised you well enough to realize that, also."
I looked over at her and saw a sad look in her eyes, knowing who else she was talking to. I was about to respond when Fiona interrupted me, opening the door for me to get out.
"Alright we're finally here! Allison, go mingle. And remember, work your way down the social ladder. Big celebrities come first." She said, practically shoving me out the door.
I sighed, before putting a bright smile on my face and walking into the loud club filled with commotion and a bunch of people.
