What do you do when you are so totally in love but the love is impossible?

ARAGORN'S POV We walked down to the floor level and Elrond started to talk. "We have found the perpetrator of the letter - and held standing in front of you." He said with a disapproving glance in Gandalf's direction.
Gandalf sent the letter? If only we'd known sooner then we would never had to have left! I calmed my frustration so that I didn't get mad at the wizard. He was so kind and wise, we knew that he meant no harm. "Can we return then?" Legolas asked eagerly.
"That is where our trouble lies," Elrond said grimly. "Your disappearance has caused my daughter to be extremely suspicious and she believes that you are here to get her a dress for the ball. I do not like lying to my daughter, but I do not wish to see her sad. I fear for the worst when the truth is revealed."
I contemplated his words carefully. I hated lying to Arwen, but I would have to tell her eventually and I knew that. I just hoped that she would understand. For now, I had to find her a dress for the ball.

Legolas and I thanked Lady Galadriel profusely before mounting Brego and Arod to join Lord Elrond and Gandalf on their horses. We waved goodbye as our company embarked on the long return to Imladris.
We travelled quickly, pushing our horses to their limit. We did not rest often; getting back to Rivendell was the main objective. I hated not being able to hold Legolas in my arms; I hated not being able to kiss him. I hated that we were going back to Rivendell and we would not be able to kiss once again.
Lady Galadriel and her ladies-in-waiting had made her a stunning dark blue dress from silk - she would love it.
ARWEN'S POV
Where was my Ada? They'd been gone for three weeks now and the ball was soon! I just hoped that my Aragorn and Ada would come back safely... and with a new dress!
I wanted to be the most beautiful lady there: everyone will be so jealous! Especially with my soon-to-be fiancée by my side.
(Yes, he hasn't proposed yet but I know he will soon!)
And that Mirkwood thing - well, he won't even be a threat once we are engaged. I love Aragorn and he loves me! That stupid blonde elf shouldn't be able to ruin that! I won't let him ruin that.
I turned around as a knock brought me from my daydreams and Aseraeth, my messenger, burst into the room. "My lady Arwen, they have returned." A smile crept onto my fave as I nodded to him to signal that he could leave.
As Aseraeth left, I stood up and rushed to my cupboard to find a 'welcome home' sort of dress. In the end I picked at light blue dress with a silver trim and brushed my hair before walking down to greet the travellers.

(Her dress :) )
Ok I'm so so so so so sorry for not updating. I can't stress this enough. I mean really I don't even have a good excuse except that I have schoolwork and I'm just stressed right now.
I am actually planning to continue this story in 3rd person because I'm getting quite bored of writing in first person and it feels quite unprofessional so idk - I'll probably also go back and edit and make everything 3rd person when I have time but for now I'm going to switch and not change from next chapter on.
I'm actually on school holiday right now so I hope I can get another chapter out soon - one that's a lot longer too!
QOTC: Where would you like to live most in Middle Earth?
A: Rivendell, obviously :P
