THE LIFE OF JOHNNY This is a story, a story about a man named Johnny. Johnny was your everyday person; he was a man that had a hard life. Johnny was once happy; he and his wife had a beautiful daughter. But as the years passed.... so did is wife. He then was alone and lived sadly for the rest of his life, a only parent. Johnny's time was also coming to an end, he wasn't expected to live past 70.... he was 76.
Johnny looks around all he can see is darkness. Johnny is unafraid, assuming that this was all a dream. He is calm and relaxed. Something in the air was....peaceful. Out of the silence he hears the sound of a muffled machine, and someone....crying? He hears someone saying his name, he immediately recognizes this voice; it was his daughter. Johnny's condition worsened by the day, he suffered from a heart attack and slipped into a coma. The doctor told his daughter he would not survive, but she sat by her dying father for four days straight. She refused to leave his bedside and she kept hope, but she knew her nightmares would come true. She would be alone.
Johnny shouts his daughters name, but he is unheard. Johnny starts to sob; he has a sudden realization about what is happening; he was dying. He hears a soothing voice say "Johnny, it's time to go." He replies "No! I can't die yet! I haven't given my daughter to a loving man, or even seen my grandchildren!" The truth was; he was afraid. The voice replies "Johnny, do you wish to say goodbye?" Johnny replies "Yes".
Johnny opens his eyes; he is looking at the roof of a hospital room. He turns to look at his daughter, he can see lines under her eyes and weakly says "I'm so proud of you, you have grown so much that it is unbelievable. I love you" She chokes a smile underneath her tears. He smiles and says "Don't worry, I will finally see your mom" He is ready, he hears the beeping slow....Eventually to a stop. He see's a bright flash of light.
This was the first attempt at writing this story. I was in 7th grade. The rewritten version is named "The Death of Johnny" and it is much more in depth.
